Only later does he expand to include future believers. And Jesus said very little about the church; it was a "mystery" revealed to Paul later on. So if you want to learn about the Rapture, read Paul's letters. Even if you ignore all that, this same Jesus said to "pray that you may escape all that is about to happen", so the concept of escape is entirely Biblical and something Jesus said to pray for. If you think what Jesus said about escape in Luke 21:36 contradicts what he said in John 17:15, it's because you take the latter out of context and misapply it to all of church history. Women (specifically WIVES in the Greek text) are not to usurp the authority of THEIR man in public. That is why the example of Adam and Eve is used! They were made as two that became ONE flesh! There were plenty of women teachers AND disciples! Further than that were women prophetesses AND judges....even in olden temple days. God is no respecter of persons; He uses whoever will be obedient! Which brings me to my next point: a person will only be given as much truth as the will be obedient with/to. God desires obedience and an obedient heart with His Torah.....all of it! Pardon me for saying so, but it is extremely dangerous to misuse God's words for your own selfish purposes. It is more important to read them in full context; which may mean looking up the Hebrew or Greek words. As far as my understandings: if I know anything at all it is because God allowed me to be unblinded. I had to separate myself from spiritual Egypt and Babylon, and that meant being led through the wilderness trusting in God only. I had to cry out in repentance for the lies we inherited. Although, if we read all of Titus' letter, we see he is speaking about becoming heirs! So then, it is important to know and understand what a peculiar people is and what is promised them! Knowing and understanding Torah as the Apostles did is the only way not to take things out of context, and it is to our benefit because Torah was the only scripture they had and knew by heart. There is no way to understand what they are talking about unless we have the same foundation of Word that they do! Exodus 19:6 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Being heirs through Yahshua, we are grafted into Israel, and as a peculiar people we are entitled to much. You could even say that you think we are raptures before the shtf, but not positive. Then tell them WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS about the slain of God from one end of earth to the other. That we will be imprisoned and then beheaded for not denying our faith. That you hope you are right about a rapture, but just in case you're not, that they need to understand what that means for them, especially in these last days. Then tell them what happens to those who take the mark. To NOT warn them of all of that is EVIL. I tell people that I believe the vast majority of us will die during the tribulation, but that some manage to stay alive when Christ returns at the end of revelation. I tell them that some believe that we will be saved before the tribulation, and some say during. I always say that I don't think he will come until the very end so they need to prepare their selves to go through horrors like we can not even imagine. That way at least they know the truth of what's coming. Better than expecting a rapture and it not happening. They won't believe in THAT God anymore. You should really be careful in teaching some things as fact, that in the end, may be the very thing that turns them away from God. Your words, not Gods. |
