EGYPT Made History again - opened new Suez Canal after just 1 yr of construction - all videos of inauguration and more inside

its immense and we are very proud here in Belgium to have helped our friends in Egpyt to complete this project in just 1 year ;)

It will be a huge boost to the economy of Egypt and it will make of Egypt in the future once again an economic powerhouse because this project is just the beginning of many in the region ;)

Well guys, thank you all who participated in this thread and watched this great event with me today. Too bad it was a bit too early for some of my smerican GLP friends, but hopefully they will see some video afterwards, should be archived on the links and ahram updates.

I can no longer keep my family sitting around, kids have friends celebrating in the Square and want to join and will take our Mrs. Bes for drinks and food...everyone got infected now in a celebration mode. And it's our "Friday" here so no work tomorrow.

Indeed, work begins tomorrow on the fork for Port Said, basically the second entrance. The industrial hubs will be amazing.

A Museum was opened actually and entrance free yesterday and today in Ismailia of all the artifacts that were uncovered from the digging of the Canal back then and the new one recently. I'm planning to go there sometime after this hot summer is over.

To be honest, because it is from the air, I can not tell from which area it was taken...I haven't studied the actual live pictures in detail yet, we didn't really see them til yesterday. So I don't know, depending on which entrance this was. But on page 1 is the official canal site you can have a look on the pictures and all other media there

Sooner or later, it is going to explode into their faces. I kept saying it for over two years now. Egypt broke their back that was the start, Syria, Iraq, Africa anywhere, people know who's supporting these groups and they're all the same, even if they appear to fight amongst each other, it's usually just tribal and who can have control.
