Cutting up an Idaho potato into French fry pieces and baking them with olive oil, salt, and garlic powder is the best mm!

How do you keep the potatoes from rotting before you eat them? That's always my problem. Texas, no basement.
 Quoting: Raye

I put the bag of potatoes in the refrigerator and take them out as needed. Lasts long time that way.

A big bag always rots at my place. Does anyone keep them in the fridge? I've never tried that way. I love potatoes and onions with garlic! Good the second day as a sandwich, with ketchup. And on a flour tortilla w/cheese. And can't forget potato pancakes!

I just don't like it when they don't stay fresh. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
 Quoting: Raye

Yeah you can definitely put them in the fridge if you got room.

I eat them so quickly that they usually don't soften up quite yet and I live in a highrise and leave them in a cupboard.

You need some bacon, Op. Dice the bacon and fry with diced onions, add par-boiled potatoes, cook until potatoes are browned.

Delicious.

I've got a girlfriend who ate nothing but potatoes in butter.. She's now carrying a colostomy bag around at age 48.. I'd suggest some fibre aka vegetables would be good.

the only problem i see is that i fry everything..

i fry the onions and garlic together in some olive oil, and the potatoes seperate, then all together at the end..

id like to think im still getting some boompow from the garlic but maybe i heat it to much.

I love 'taters , I guess it's the Irish from my mothers side of the family. I like onions too, have no use for garlic. If i were you i would put some protein in that diet in the form of meat or fish, fish being the best. If you're vegetarian you're going to be sickly and die too soon, humans have eyes in the front of their heads, canine teeth and incisors for a reason, we are predatory carnivorous omnivores technically speaking. It's ok to eat mainly veggies, I've went on kicks lie that for years at a time, but you need animal based protein to be healthy and strong.

The olive oil is unnecessary.. you could have bought a lot of other food for that...
