My grandmother lived in a small East Texas town that had become overrun with illegals. Bo Pilgrims (of Pilgrims Pride) hired them as cheap labor to work his chicken farms & processing plants. Anyhow, when she was 86 yrs old, an illegal alien who lived in her neighborhood broke into her home & attempted to rape her. She managed to scare the attacker away by yelling for my uncle (who wasn't there.) She ended up with several bruises & scrapes, but was otherwise physically unharmed. However, the emotional scars stayed with her until her death. The police were never able to apprehend the illegal. The investigator informed us that he had likely fled back to Mexico, but that he would be back at some point, because his illegal family still lived in the area. She spent those last 12 years in fear that he would return & hurt or kill her. I do not blame people for wanting a better life for themselves & their families. However, due to situations such as the one above, we cannot leave our borders open for just anyone to cross. We are putting our own in potential jeopardy when we allow this. |
