I'm pretty sure this airplane issue was due to hacking.. Not a system glitch. The airlines don't want to come out and say oh by the way we were hacked and had no idea where any planes were this being said, Isis will do this again and use the opportunity to fly the missing plane with the missing nuke into NYC
