Jesus tells us all about this false "rapture" that happens "in that night" in Luke 17 20-37.

The coming of Christ is always called the "day" of the Lord in scripture. Here is Jesus himself telling us that one will come "in that night" to take people from their beds, from working in the fields (at night? You see the symbolism now, yes?).

The Apostles ask him "where Lord, where are they taken?

Then Jesus tells them that those taken "in that night" are taken to die. "where the body lies, there will the vultures gather", I believe are His exact words.

This lines up with the wheat and the Tares parable as well.

Those harvested first and bundled up together to be burned are going to think they are being raptured, and the true Christians left behind are going to feel betrayed because all these evil non-believers just got "raptured" by God, probably lose heart or just melt away in sadness, figuring they were wrong all along.

This will lead to the great "falling away" mentioned by Paul in 2 Thessalonians.
