Many of the events Shaela spoke of in her letters to my family contained events that I personally remember. Except her versions were twisted and made to sound much worse. And by events, I mean arguments that we had from time to time (every family has their arguments from time to time). This....This is why I believe that Shaela is lying about being abused. My family is so tight knit, 7 children. The evidence would have been so obvious early on if she really was abused. Not only that but she didn't confide in anyone about anything about any abuse! Not her sisters whom she was extremely close to, not her friends? All of my siblings tell each other everything, we're just that close!
My mother is far from a bitch...She's my best friend and one of the most wonderful people I have in my life. My dad is a hard worker and a role model. He would do anything to make sure we are all safe and have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. Shaela is so far gone.
Thank you everyone with your kind comments. We really are trying to figure out the best route to go with this...This is why we are taking steps to expose Mark and Cathy. If anything, maybe it will make Shaela question them. That is, of course, if she is even able to see this stuff. We are unsure what she has access to when it comes to her E-mail/threads and what not.

I feel she should be your number one priority over exposing Mark and Cathy for what they are. Fight to get her out of there! I don't know why your family waited this long to do something after receiving her mean emails that may not of even been written by her is very weird to me. She could of been forced to write them and do as Mark says at gunpoint or something...
Put yourself in her shoes. She has had years of no one in her family going out to Alabama to see if she is OK or to explore the idea that Mark has been abusing/mind-controlling her...you have had so many warning sings that something wasn't right over the years...why didn't you do anything!?
if I was your sister I would of most likely given up all hope by now and would think my family doesn't really love me or were part of my mind-control, especially if she is being raped/tortured/mind-controlled by Mark. The guy could of put anything in her head by now..and she believes it as no one else is there to correct her.
Even after your dad was given warning signs that Mark wasn't all there in the head when he went to visit..you dad still didn't bring her home. He just left her there to be manipulated.
I really hope your family goes to the police. If not no one will take you seriously.
