How long is long compared to infinity? Because even trillions of years have a beginning and an end as opposite to infinity. We fantasize about death and life after death because nobody knows what will happen and those that experienced it never came back to prove it. It all is guessing and fearmongering, wait till the moment comes, it will come for each one of us, we all get to experience it, and see what happens then. In the mean time enjoy life.
