Mars Express images Face on Mars

Are they trying to debunk the face? It still looks like a face to me in this image.

The thing that has always struck me, is not the likeness to a face in the original image, but the symmetry of the 'face' - by that I mean having two parallel sides and curved top and bottom. It just doesn't look natural.

Face or no face, it has a remarkably regularly shaped outline for a "natural formation".

There is plenty of Mars features too artificial looking to be just a coincidence.

take a good look at it people. Its NOT a face. Nor are the other figures pyramids. Look at the high res image of the area. That is ALL naturally formed geological features.

Some people will believe what they want, when the facts clearly stare them in the face.

Suuuuuuuuure they are.

These do not look like REAL photos, more like computer generated and enhanced.

All the Mars Express photos look more like paintings to me - the Cydonia ones aren't any different.

Looking at the picture closely, the major difference I see between the "face" structure and the other structures is that for all of the other structures, once the sides angle downward, they continue to go down until they reach ground level. With the "face" structure, one can clearly see that there is an inner, CURVED downward slope, that meets up with a straight angled edging of debris that travels the rest of the way to the ground level. I know I probably didnt explain that correctly, but take a look at the hi res shot and you can easily see what I mean.

I dont see any pyramids in the area, however it is very clear to me that the "face" structure is not a naturally occurring formation. It appears to have been created, and is now covered with millinias worth of debris...the fact that one half of the "face" seems to be more covered than the other also suggests wind.

I dunno though, no geologist.

the face looks less like a face in these images but I agree with the others that the symetry is very interesting. The face has parallel lines and the curves on the top and bottom are perfect. It does appear that one side of the face is eroded or as Hoagland wants us to believe destroyed by NASA. Well I still find Mars to be an extremely interesting planet and I would not be at all surprised to learn that it was once inhabited maybe by an ancestor of ours.

The German spiegel (www.spiegel.de) of today says with the new pic you can clearly see that the face is only a mountain. Jawohl !!

The difference is the 70s photo has not been touched up and the newer ones have.

i am glad it isnt a face. i didnt like the face, it gave me a creepy feeling.
