The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has kicked up a potential abortion hornet’s nest with states that impose restrictions on a common abortion-inducing drug, approving a new label for the medication that relaxes guidelines for using it.

The FDA notified the manufacturer of Mifeprex, a drug previously known as RU-486, in a letter on Tuesday that the drug is safe and effective for terminating a pregnancy in accordance with the new label. Also known as mifepristone, the synthetic steroid drug is used in combination with another drug, misoprostol, to end a pregnancy.

Under the new label, a smaller dose of Mifeprex can be used significantly later in the pregnancy — up to 70 days of gestation, from 49 days.

The decision could rankle lawmakers in states that required the drugs to be used in accordance with the original labels. Critics complained those labels were outdated and restrictive.

I do. It is even harder on the child. It is not the father who will suffer, it is the mother and the child.

What I don't get is that most of those who are against abortion are also against welfare. How is a single mother going to cloth and feed that child that you want to dictate that she has to have?

Abortions have been going on for ages by using unsafe methods. Many women died in the process. If it is made illegal, it will again be done in back rooms using unsafe methods that cause bleeding or spesis.

I realize that my opinion is in the minority and I am well past child bearing. I no longer have a dog in this fight. I only beg for your compassion for those new mothers that will have a difficult road to walk should Roe vs Wade be over turned.

A woman gives her gift to a man to show him that she loves him. If a child is concieved, he turns his back on her. He walks away and she bears the consequence and is left with little hope of ever making a marriage. All she wanted was to love and be loved and to love her children. Others look at her as damaged goods no longer fit for "polite" society and the man walks a way. No MAN has the right to tell a women that she must carry a child; that she and that child must face shame for the rest of their lives. Either way you look at it, society is very cruel.

The ironic thing if if none of those babies had been aborted, GLPers would be complaining that they have to pay for their welfare. Conservatives are strongly against abortion, yet also deny assistance to mothers who are incapable of providing for their children. Then they belittle and insult minority parents who probably SHOULD have had an abortion because they already had 4 kids. So much hypocrisy on this issue.

Don't you understand that Human life is defective, and humanity should be ended? To spare helpless innocent children and woman from horrifying evils that you cannot even fathom? I wish i was killed before birth, but now i have family to consider. To live in this world is to sin.
