Jesus said: ‘You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavour… it is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.’ Salt comes from the sea, and it is linked to the mystery of our origins. It is absolutely vital to our organism, and many foods seem insipid to us if we do not add a little salt. It is therefore as if Jesus were saying to us: ‘Thanks to you, the earth will acquire flavour. You will preserve all that is good and beautiful and will give meaning to life. For this is what meaning is: flavour. You are bearers of the meaning of life, and through you everything in the world will take on meaning. Do not put yourself in situations where you can lose this quality of salt, or you will be crushed by events.’ Philosophers create endless dissertations on the meaning of life, but in fact it is very simple: the meaning of life is in the flavour we find in things, and it is the spirit, yes, the spirit within us that gives them this flavour.

Actually, salt doesn't come the sea here. Jesus spoke of ground salt.

That's why He said, You are the salt of the earth.

isn't salt linked to cancer and disease?

I know many people who stopped using salt and their health got better.

I was recently inquiring to Jesus why I am putting so much salt on my food.

Thank you, Father, for the warning.

Salt preserves,
It holds back rot, decay and corruption.

Not 100 years ago most of us understood this.

In Hebraic, Rabbinical thought, salt symbolize torah and covenant.

The word for savor, as in, if salt loses its savor, is the word 'moros' in the Greek. It literally means moron (or moran in GLP speak), to be made to look insipid or foolish. It's saying we are to look like fools to the world because we are sharing biblical Truth.

1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

If a Christian is preaching an ear-tickling message, he has lost his savor.

Here's a mind-blowing teaching (Biblical Chemistry):
