In the thread that I started a few months ago, some people advised me to purchase N95 masks. These people stated that P100 masks were very expensive and would clog up very quickly. N95 masks were much cheaper and would not clog up as quickly.

On the Home Depot website, there is only one disposable P100 mask, which sells for $10 per unit. That is, indeed, very expensive.

So, now, you guys are advising me to buy P100 masks?

The following website seems to indicate that N95 masks would be sufficient:

I should mention that I live in Chicago and that my primary concern is Yellowstone volcano. If Chicago were filled with volcanic ash, I would be outdoors for only brief periods of time. I would go outdoors to sweep ash off my roof and to buy groceries. That's it.

So, should I really spend a lot of money on P100 masks? Or will the N95 masks suffice?
