Venus is EXTREMELY bright in the eastern sky and will continue to rise earlier and earlier until October 26 when it conjuncts Jupiter I believe its extraordinary brightness is a special sign for our times Venus is now in the east and Sirius in the southeast and above it Orion'a belt |

Before sunrise on the mornings of September 9 and 10, 2015, use the waning crescent moon to locate the planets Venus and Mars. Dazzling Venus is the most brilliant starlike object in all the heavens, ranking in brilliance only after the sun and moon. So it’ll be hard to miss Venus near the moon in the east for the next several days. Mars is fainter, but Venus and the moon – and a very optimum sky, and possibly a pair of binoculars – should help you spot it. The moon always moves eastward relative to the background planets and stars of the Zodiac. If you don’t know which way is east, remember … it’s the direction of sunrise. When the waning crescent moon is in the sky – as it is these next several mornings – keep in mind that the illuminated side of the crescent always points eastward – or in the sunrise direction. By the morning of September 11, the moon will be near the star Regulus – brightest star in the constellation Leo the Lion – as it slides downward toward the sunrise point on the horizon. And Jupiter? It’s shown on our chart, at top. But Jupiter is very near the sunrise, and you’ll need exceptional sky conditions to spot it this week. Keep watching, and Jupiter should come into view by about the middle of September. [link to earthsky.org] |

They rise together at dawn. The waning crescent of Elul/the shemitah year. 9/10 will be 26 elul Friday 9/11 at sunrise the waning crescent is conjunct Regulus the lion's heart. At sunset Jupiter and the moon are conjunct. On the 12th Jupiter emerges from behind the sun's glare before dawn. At midnight on the 12th into the 13th is a partial solar eclipse. On the evening of the 13th and 14th the new crescent appears to open the year 5776. On Tuesday September 15th the new waxing crescent is conjunct the star Spica symbolizing the harvest At midnight on the 16th Jupiter and Neptune are opposed. On the 17th Saturn permanently leaves Scorpio. In summary, things are calm astrologically until midnight 9/9-9/10. 9/11 at dawn is an important signifier as is the appearance of Jupiter at dawn around the 12th. The eclipse over the weekend is the silent seam between the years. The reappearance of the crescent on the evening of the 15th at Spica on the eve of the 16th-17th Fed meeting itself littered with monummental aspects hints that something beckons overnight 9/9-9/10 (Asia's Thursday), brighter Friday, and spills into next week peaking the evening of the 15th thru the evening of the 17th - the black box od the Fed decision. |

Its crazy looking at this. I was not sure what it was. So I decided to search on here and maybe find out. I can see it in the east and the star is extremely bright. The strange thing is, the star will almost completely dim out where it just looks like a pin hole of light. And then it gets extremely bright. And it keeps doing this, I haven't seen a star do this before. But, its pretty fun to look at. |

And it keeps doing this, I haven't seen a star do this before. But, its pretty fun to look at. Just went outside and had a look. Tonight is the first night I have seen the brightening and dimming phenomenon you mention. I had to be pretty patient waiting for it to resume the extraordinary brightness I have witnessed the past several night. It was nearly as bright as I've seen, and then proceeded to dim to the point of a pinprick star, and then to appear to me to disappear altogether for a few moments, and then reappear again as a dim star and brighten. Gave me the same feeling as the full moon turning red. The past several nights, it has been exclusively bright, that stage where it looks like there is a cluster of stars there shining together almost like a tiny moon. |
