Let me ask you this Rev. Remember when Obama was first running? He came out of no where. An unknown. sketchy background to say the least. The people of the WORLD fell in love with him (he won a freakin' nobel prize for goodness sake). Everyone thought he was going to change America, change the WORLD! He's made things much worse on many fronts. He's "in charge" of the most powerful nation on the planet, but his time is running out. He meets with the Pope this month. The same Pope that some have called with last Pope. Is it possible that we have been in the presence of the anti-Christ for 7+ years? He is supposed to deceive the world after all.
 Quoting: Wash

It's possible, but I think things have to get a lot worse before he could formally be revealed as the AC. Plagues, big wars, major earthquakes, famines, etc. These last seven years have sucked, but not Great Tribulation sucked. I'm not saying Obama isn't the AC, but if he is, his primary work is in the future, maybe in his last year as president, maybe as UN SecGen, but I just don't think things have become nearly bad enough yet.
 Quoting: Revbo™

Maybe, this meeting with the pope is the big semi-coming out party for both of them. There are plenty of us who think this pope fits the bill as the False Prophet (not to mention your reference to the Malachy prophecies), and they're both really just getting started on their world-destroying agendas.

It's interesting to say the least.

Let's just get past the Shemitah this weekend, and work our way up to Sept 23. There's a lot going on that could tie in to prophecy, not the least of which is the barbarian horde about to overrun Europe, and bring on the Second Fall of Western Civilization.

Newton was a devout believer in Christ and a Bible scholar, fluent in ancient languages, who translated directly from Hebrew and Greek. He was unusually drawn to the prophet Daniel, which he began studying at the age of 12 and continued until he died at the age of 85. In fact, The Columbia History of the World, a secular history book, remarks, “At the end of his days Newton spent more time studying and writing about the prophecies in the Book of Daniel than he did in charting the heavens.” Apparently, God Himself put in Newton’s heart this burning desire to study Daniel, then gave him the key to the timing of Christ’s return. Could this be the final profound secret the Lord revealed to this godly genius near the end of his life – a secret “accidentally” discovered in the Library of Congress and republished just in the last few years – a secret so simple that most have missed it?

Quotes from the book where it explains Newton’s calculations of adding 49 years to the June 1967 date. Based on “Newton’s riddle” the book says, “Messiah’s possible return to earth will be on or before the year 2016.” However, that is apparently based on using modern (365-day) years in calculation. As I pointed out in my e-mail dated February 20, 2008, if you use the exact 49 Jewish (360-day, prophetic) years from the day Israel captured the Temple Mount on June 7, 1967, you get 49 X 360 = 17640 days, which amazingly takes one exactly to September 23rd, 2015, the Day of Atonement 2015.

Newton obviously saw that as the Second Coming. The Lord alone knows the times and the dates, but we are admonished to know the season. Jonathan Cahn’s new book, “the Mystery of the Shemitah”, appears to point also to September 23rd, 2015.

Good thread, Wash. Antichrist has to come first, and he's going to be in control for a while, so I doubt Jesus returns on Sept 23, but that would be a good time for Fake Jesus to "return," and fool a lot of folks.

what I find strange about the messiah returning is ...

a well respected rabbi announces the imminent return of the messiah (septemberish) & asks all jews to return to israel ...

instead, hundreds of thousands of syrian libyan & iraqi refugees flood europe

This thread reminded of something that Sir Isaac Newton once said:

"For an educated man in the seventeenth or even eighteenth century, any suggestion that the human past extended back further than 6000 years was a vain and foolish speculation.”

Newton ended up calculating 3988 B.C. as the year of Adam and Eve's creation. Other scientists would end up pinpointing the month as October. Of course, pinning down the exact date of Adam's creation is by no means an easy task and even Newton was not sure he had pinpointed the exact date.

Now, here is where it gets interesting.

Lactantius (in The Divine Institutes) writes that:

"Since all the works of God were completed in six days, the world must continue in its present state through six ages, that is, six thousand years. For the great Day of God is limited by a circle of a thousand years, as the prophet shows, who says: "In Thy sight, O Lord, a thousand years are as one day." And as God labored during those six days in creating such great works, so His religion and truth must labor during these six thousand years, while wickedness prevails and bears rule. And again, since God, having finished His works, rested on the seventh day and blessed it, at the end of the six thousandth year all wickedness must be abolished from the earth, and righteousness reign for a thousand years; and there must be tranquility and rest from the labors which the world now long has endured."

And St. Augustine writes (De Civitate Dei):

"Those who, on the strenght of this passage [of Revelation 20:1-6], have suspected that the first resurrection is future and bodily, have been moved, among other things, specially by the number of a thousand years, as if it were a fit thing that the saints should thus enjoy a kind of Sabbath-rest during that period, a holy leisure after the labors of six thousand years since man was created...(and) there should follow on the completion of six thousand years, as of six days, a kind of seventh-day Sabbath in the succeeding thousand years; and that it is for this purpose the saints rise, viz., to celebrate this Sabbath. And this opinion would not be objectionable, if it were believed that the joys of the saints, in that Sabbath shall be spiritual, and consequent on the presence of God..."

The idea was that just as God labored for six days and rested on the seventh, so to would "the world" labor for six thousand years followed by a Sabbath-rest (some say this is the Era of Peace foretold at Fatima), followed by the eighth day, eternity (8 representing eternity in ancient literature) the coming "of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only."

Everything hinges on correctly calculating the year of Adam's creation.

I actually read that book several years ago as part of a separate line of research.
Conclusions: the invention of the British Empire as an ideology under a Saxon elite dates to this time.
The short version:
the "discovery" that Saxons are Isaac's sons.
The "discovery" that the Jews needed to be returned to Jerusalem, rebuild the Temple etc, so that Jesus could return.
The "discovery" that the Ten Lost Tribes also needed to be drawn under the umbrella of protection of the British Empire.
Newton was a brilliant man no doubt: he was also working off what was known of history, archeology and physics at the time.
Which was that the earth was created in 4004 BC.
Which it was not.
Result: flawed conclusion.
His moronic followers, the British aristocracy and their banker friends have been trying to make this prophetic time line come about ever since.
He's my prophecy: apart from preplannned staged events, nothing much will happen, the end of the world won't occur and Jesus won't return.
See you on 29th September.

The significance of ending 49 years on the Day of Atonement is telling Gods people to repent of all sin and be ready for signs in the earth sun and moon. Luke 21:25ff is getting ready to happen. When He stops His ministry as High Priest the opportunity to be forgiven of sins is over. That is the meaning of the Day of Atonement. September 23 begins the end of Grace. Are you ready for His return? It will happen by the fall of 2018. God bless.
