Questions about Zawahiri’s status are also pouring out of the jihadist community onto social media. Most notable among them are those from Muhamed Mahmoud, an Islamic State ISIL commander. In a blistering series of tweets on July 30, 2014, after the death of Mullah Omar said, “here is the next bombshell: Az-Zawahiri has long been dead and Al Qaida is concealing this.”

Mahmoud, a former Al Qaida operative, offered no concrete proof of Zawahiri’s death, but anecdotally pointed out that Zawahiri, “loved the camera and published an audio or video (message) for every event.” Zawahiri he said, “has not produced any kind of messaging in almost a year.”

However, it’s not clear when al-Zawahiri recorded this newly released speech. Some references he makes suggest that it was recorded last spring. al-Zawahiri may be finding it more difficult to get his messages out as he currently has a $25 million dollar bounty on his head.

Nope, the CIA is declaring that CIA is declaring a war on the CIA.

that's interesting...Omar was dead for years when it was announced...i suppose its likely that zawahiri is also long dead.

but it doesn't change the probability that baghdadi is now considered to be worthless and will soon be killed and his army destroyed.

In a roundabout, twisted, misinformed, misdirected, covert kind of way....probably.

When the Caliph is killed - and he will be at some point - then 'Jesus' descends and join with the emergent Mahdi who leads after the Caliph - and that's when the killing of the remaining infidels really gets going.

Oh, you think it's bad now - just wait til 'they' come down from clouds and the axe is laid without any recourse to a theological position as ISIS is doing now.


It's all been told to everyone already. Within the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic tradition - the same events play out at the 'end' of the 'world'.

It just so happens that the majority of all three traditions - and most everyone else - gets wiped out in the great cleansing.

Dead Zawahiri and all the rest of these PR ghosts are just filler.

This 'declaration of war' is a bit overblown, IMO.
If you read various articles about AZ from recent days, you'll see that a lot of differences exist, but a willingness to work together at certain points does as well. No real mention of 'declaring war'.

Zawahiri pledges loyalty to Mullah Omar, so it had to be recorded before the end of July, when the Taliban finally acknowledged that their leader had reached thermal equilibrium in 2013. Reuters quotes analysts who think it may be from early this year. ABC’s analysts believe this could give moderate Sunni nations an opening to exploit in pitting both groups against each other, but they’ve been at that for a while already. In Syria, Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS have skirmished repeatedly for territorial control, along with the much-less-effective “free Syrian forces” we’ve been trying to stand up against Baghdadi.
