Ice Cube to play Scrooge in upcoming “Humbug”, a retelling of “A Christmas Carol”

Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” is getting a modern retelling, with Ice Cube portraying Scrooge. First off, whoever thought of this casting is a genius. Another run of the mill remake about a holiday story that we’ve all heard a million times would most likely get a collective eye roll from movie fans and then tank at the box office. But with the casting of a mega star like Ice Cube, a man who has practically copyrighted his own scowl, this movie may actually have a chance to be entertaining, and see some decent popularity during the oversaturated holiday movie season.
