I actually like my Lenovo notebook, but I always reformat and install my own software. Of course, I do that with any computer I acquire instead of build. Used to be just because I hate bloatware, but now there are many other reasons, as well.

They make a decent enough computer, but their service and warranty department suck ballz...

And try finding parts for some of that shit...OMG!!!

That's what they were stealing, but no doubt it was not all they were watching?

Just install a fresh OS on top of it.. Problem solved.
And disable remote capability from the Bios.

What a bunch of tards. Majority of Lenovo models are sold with intel cpus. If there is any spying it is with the CPUs and its associated enhance technology such as anti theft and built in 3g.

As for firmwares. YOu can easily hack and mod them.

Any really computer savvy people on here? I was wondering, with all the competing spyware on these systems, which one is priority? I mean, with Windows MS spying, facebook spying, google spying, NSA backdoors, and now Chinese back doors, it must look like a WWE cage match in the code as all these things work to sell you out.

Are you just figuring this out??! Imagine working for a graphics publishing firm where you are at the sole mercy of these asshats and their gay subscription model overloaded authentication scheme.

First thing you do when you buy a new or refurbished computer is wipe the HD and do a clean install of the OS (I don't recommend anything later than Windows 7 if you must use Windows.)

Also, Microsoft has recently updated Windows 7 and Windows 8 with many of the spy features of Windows 10. There are numerous updates you should not install or should uninstall if you want to avoid those.

Again, overall I wouldn't recommend Windows, but I know some people don't have the time to learn a new OS or need the features of Windows.

A lot of people require the features of Windows because a lot of software won't work without Windows. Autocad, Photoshop, A LOT OF ENGINEERING PROGRAMS (Including PLC programming software), etc. Hell, even Siemens and their God forsaken software that requires specifically Windows 7 Pro or it won't work (Why I stopped using Siemens anywhere I can). So much stuff designed to run in Windows.

And you know what the sad part is? A lot of these softwares used to run in a Unix environment. Autocad was purposely designed to run in a UNIX environment and still includes all its old Unix code in the newest Autocad version. All the damn commands are still freaking Unix like. Photoshop used to run on SGI Unix just fine and still includes old code to run on Unix systems.

And yet more and more people are using linux and these giants refuse to even dare release a version for it even though they used too.

Lenovo is THE WORST computer manufacturer.

They will not stand behind their products warranty.

The power pin came out when I took out my power supply, and they will not stand behind the warranty. Never had anything like this happen. It's just flimsy garbage, they got me.

Should have known not to buy a Lenovo. Ya live and learn I guess.
