The title sparked intrigue, I read the story hoping to find some actual doom, or at least an interesting mystery, instead all I found was deception. 1. The story states a blazing ufo is 'hurtling towards earth'. Streaking across the sky is not 'hurtling towards earth'. Something that is hurtling towards earth, is still there an hour later when you look at the same spot. If I spot a weird trail going across the sky, I can't say 'look, something is hurtling towards earth.' You can't observe a train moving across the horizon perpendicular to you and say 'look, that train is hurtling right towards me'. It's an outright lie. A ------------- > B (Here is A hurting towards B) A | | B | | | \/ (This is not A hurtling towards B) 2. The story makes a promise of baffled experts. There were no baffled experts. There was one scientist interviewed, who was asked to look at a picture and guess what something was. He said he didn't know, but guessed at what it might be. That isn't baffled. And it's only one guy. The entire article is slathered with deception. Lies are lies. Whether they are coming from a source you don't want to agree with (the government) or a source you do want to agree with (truthers), you should be bothered, and insulted, by the fact that someone is skewing facts to purposely try to manipulate you into believing their narrative. |
