Sports, like any entertainment, is a distraction. Some will say it is nefarious, while others need to be entertained.

Personalty, I am not sanctimonious enough to stop watching sports because it is a tool of distraction for TPTB, but I do limit myself.

I only watch Football and Baseball during playoffs and about 50% of Habs Hockey game all season.
