40 year old grandmother. What more do you need to know?

Once worked with dude who was a 32 year old grandfather...I shit you not.

Who knows what really happened. Could have been someone else in the car that shot her, a two year old can't get a story straight if they have been coached.

So how did a kid (2 years old) in a 5 point harness car seat (which is the law in almost all of not all states) reach a gun in the seat in front of them, pull the hammer and the trigger? (Even if it was already cocked, that's a lot of squeezing for a 2 yr old, unless it was a hair trigger. Was the safety on? I mean, there's a whole separate element unless it was a .357 with a hair trigger and no safety and already cocked in which case she was the most irresponsible gun owner on earth.

There's no way the kid picked up and shot a .357 magnum with out hurting them self. So the likely scenario is it was in the pocket of the passenger seat and shot through the seat, and even then how the hell did it shoot the passenger?

There's a whole lot of weirdness with this story.

The trigger pull weight is a dumb argument. Kids can have a variety of leverages used to pull a trigger. Bottom line is no child is safe around a gun. There will be exceptions (kids with innate common sense), but the exceptions shouldn't write the rules. Keep kids and guns away from each other.

Yeah, really. I've handled dozens of revolvers and the trigger pull ranges from really hard to extra really hard. I think even cocking the hammer first would be too much for any 2 year old I've ever seen by any revolver that I've ever seen.

Could it have been a single action revolver with a safety? I've seen some of those. Wierd setup but available. Maybe the hammer was cocked and the kid got the safety off and, then, boom!

Don't know, but it sounds hokey to me. I think someone else did it as an accident and then they blamed it on the 2 year old to keep the legal repercussions down.

I can't imagine that either. I first became a grandmother when I was 53. I had my daughter when I was 27 and my daughter had her child when she was 27. I look back now and think we were young.
