Further, your private interpretation makes little sense, since Peter, to whom the keys are given, is the immediate focus of the passage. Who Christ is is the overarching focus. BOTH PETER AND CHRIST are the Rock, who hold the Keys, with Peter as Christ's earthly vicar.
