I doubt they could care less about the line or even if he wrote their sins, they were evil people ready to stoone to death a woman for alleged adultery. I think Jesus drew a circle of spiritual holy protection around her , and the demons that were going to stone her could not harm her.

the line was clear as day...in this story is full admission in scripture that sin is real...he acknowledges the woman has sinned, he guarantees that the crowd has sinned..and he is warning them from sinning again...you can twist this to mean all is forgivable or you can take it for what it is...god speaking with his own mouth that they were all sinners and needed to stop...he didn't say keep doing what you do he said stop all of it, not live as wish because you shall be forgiven

He wrote the name of the man who had been with the woman. A man who was one of the religious elite. Those with the stones knew that their hypocrisy was naked.

it is actually believed (but no-one really even knows or sure) that it was their sins , not their names. but still this is best reason. on another note, some churches don't teach this verse because it doesn't appear in the oldest manuscripts and may be a event that did happen, but was added by a scribe.

Interesting. I've heard preachers speculate on this. They admit that no one truly knows since we are not told. But your ideas are as good as any that I have heard.

That's why I stick with the King James. The "oldest" manuscripts are not necessarily the best. I've heard that they survived longer from lack of use.

Wow that's very "logical", if one has 2 components (spiritual and the physical) and does not operate in the spiritual realm they are therefore physical/carnal. Keep trying.

But the point of it wasn't "Stop sinning." Everyone knows you shouldn't sin. The POINT was that you can't judge ANYONE because you yourself are a sinner.

Fore everyone who misunderstands the phrase, let's be clear about "not judging." For Christ, "not judging" means not passing sentence because you and I are also worthy of judgment. In politically correct speak, "not judge" means never saying that sexual perversion is wrong. We have the duty to discriminate between right and wrong. We cannot grow as humans if we do not. But we must always recognize that Christ is the Judge and not us.

I don't think that it proves her point. We still don't know what the Lord actually wrote. It remains a matter of speculation.

It does prove the point because the prophecy in jeremiah was then fulfilled. Nothing is in the bible by random, it all means something........especially the things Jesus said and did. The pharisees knew the scripture in jeremiah, that's why they dropped their stones and walked away when Jesus did that. They knew!

It's VERY clear.

No, it's not clear. I believe that if it were intended to be a fulfillment of Scripture, the Gospel writers would have told us. However, they are silent.

I've noticed in your posts that you are sort of a religious narcissist, overestimating yourself, setting yourself up as the teacher. Learn some humility.

The ones who were about to stone the woman for adultery were following the Law/Judgements of God. They were hardly demons. Lame.
