Most serious thread I've ever written
I love to cook. Since very small my mother had a knife in my hand. I'm at a place where finally Culinary School is a possibility. Is 45 too old?

Never too old to learn. Maybe too old to get hired. Especially if you are a white dude.

When you find a piece of shit along side the road and you poke it with a stick, what do you expect to find inside of it, gold?
No, it's just going to stink more.

Be very, very careful! Look at what others are saying online about how they can't get a decent job and pay off their student loans after going to culinary school.

Here are some examples:

Re: Most serious thread I've ever written
I've shared this letter to Dear Abby with others over the years who have had the same concerns as you, UT.

Dear Abby: I am a 36-year-old college dropout whose lifelong ambition was to be a physician. I have a very good job selling pharmaceutical supplies, but my heart is still in the practice of medicine. I do volunteer work at the local hospital and people tell me I would have been a wonderful doctor.

If I go back to college and get my degree, then go to medical school, do my internship and finally get into the practice of medicine - it will take me seven years. But in seven years, I will be 43 years old! What do you think? - Unfulfilled in Philly

Dear Unfulfilled: And how old will you be in seven years if you don't go back to college?
