Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

This time people are waking up. primarily because of what happened the last time. I don't think EU has a future anymore. Mass unchecked immigration in to the EU from the ME, and sickening subservience to a US master has awoken the masses. It will only get worse. One only need look at the normally passive Germans. The president has the obligation to indicate for prime minister the leader of the most voted party (mid-right coalition). 2. There was no real agreement between left parties (3), just some talks. 3. Parliament is the one that aproves (or not) the new government. 4. Only then the president should talk to anyone else in order to secure a stable majority in the parliament that supports a new governement. Personaly don't who take it, but know what you talking about when saying this stuff (and yes, the president made a awful speach) |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66706403 No way! But now they're not even pretending, they're blatant about it. Not true at all. These elections we're for the socialists to lose. The general public is fed up with austerity. The we're polling 10pt above just 6 months ago. But performed so badly in the campaign that the moderate voter chose to keep the mid-right coalition in first place. The 3 left parties weren't able to produce an agreement. The just anounced they found a verbal undestanding. Not enought in the constitution to be handed the governement at the first try. You really don't know what you are talking about. |
Lab Rat User ID: 70640397 ![]() 10/24/2015 09:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sure, the right-wing coalition won the elections. Nonetheless they dont have a majority in the parliament so it was a dead end from the begining. The biggest left-wing party, PS, did not accept a proposal from the winning coalition to join them and so have a parliamentary majority. The most obvious option is for PS to invite the other leftist parties, BE and PCP, to form a left-win coalition and form a government. With this in mind, and knowing that the President is the most sectarian President we had since the dictatorship no one expected him to invite the left-wing coalition to form the government and so he appointed the right-wing parties. Our constitution does not say the wining party must form government, it is just a ''tradition''. Next week the right-wing must announce the government program, and as expected, the majority will say no, the government will not pass, and the left-wing coalition will then announce its own government program. So we just have to wait another week and the parliament will do what our President did not have the balls to do. Last Edited by Lab Rat on 10/24/2015 09:30 AM |

And the probable result will be a 3 way left party government. But they tried to push the president (who is a donk, i would agree) to propose them to form a gorvernment without a program and a written agreement. In my view, that's not acceptable and not democratic. |

They voted against the Lisbon treaty then got forced to vote again. Then the same thing happened with the Irish. The Dutch people voted against it, then their MP's forced it through anyway... |

Montblanc User ID: 70640704 ![]() 10/24/2015 10:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look, the problem here is that during the campaign the leftists accused each other of every and anything. The PCP (communist party) accused PS (socialists, moderate left) of being the same as PSD (moderate right), now they want to govern together. Any thinking person knows it's insane and unethical, meanwhile the media pushes for this leftistleftist coalition to rule and four years of sacrifices will go to the drain because these guys (who brought US to the IMF mercy 3 times in the last 40 years) say there's money to give everyone their free shit. There are some things I agree with in left side ideology, but I know that realistically no one will be able to change how things are done. Also, if the left parties had intentionally announced a coalition during campaign the right side coalition would've probably won a majority because no one wants the PCP in power and that's proven by their 15% voting or below since we became a democracy. Following your logic no one wants the CDS-PP party as well, since they have never had a close to 15% voting when running alone and they were part of the last government and form the coalition. Face it, left-wing had more votes than the right-wing. What can we expect from a right-wing government? They will never have enough votes to pass a single law. Is this the stability that our wannabe-president so much desires? Let democracy flow, the deputies will choose the new government. |
