When you decode symbols and signs it will always look like you take something out of context as the whole thing will try to look something else while a single sign or symbol will give an entire different picture.

I haven't personally decoded the karate kid movie but from the signs i spotted in the above clip i can give you an even more different picture.

Where just like in matrix with neo and smith same thing here the karate kid and johnny are a double/symbolize the same person.

In the beach where both are dressed in red is the first sign that gives it away.

It's a tradition in hollywood movies to encode the hero and villain to actually be the same person.

See spiderman and spiderman venom, superman and lex(one symbolizes the power of the lunar boss and the other his very intelligent/cunning mind), star trek nemesis where they made it too obvious etc.
