lol I love this site. I swear you guys are just to parnoid. The reason you cannot get close to it is. Because of the payload it is carrying. I worked personally on both of these aerostat's. There is nothing spying on you with this blimp. It just carries a advanced radar.

Of course its not spying on us. It got shot down and crashed in the woods. Wonder what the danger zone for the RF on the radar was as it floated along. Some of the powerful ground radars you wouldn't want to be within a hundred meters while they were operational. This was supposed to be some pretty juiced up radar.

That is very true on the ground based radar as it is for this one or any of them. But once the aerostat reaches a certain height it is turned on. It has a stanby mode as well. Once the tehter was broken it lost all power. Trying to relax the fears here of people. Once the thing reaches a certain alt. it has things on it to bring it down. But the volume is so high this takes awhile therefore that is why you see where it went down.

You wouldn't think it would be so hard to put a failsafe in these things. Tether was obviously conductive, and it's supposed to be attached to the ground, so that means you have a solid earth ground to monitor. If ground is lost, activate emergency deflate operations so that it lands (maybe not gracefully) within 10 or 15 minutes. Recovery crews would be local to clean up the mess. You would think at least one of the egg heads that designed it would have thought of that.

I find it odd that it didn't have any fail-safe, especially considering the nature and value of the equipment it carried. Coincidence is just another word for explaining away what you don't want to understand.
The first step in preparing a nation for war is to demonize the enemy and rally support from the public.

The enemy must be viewed by the public as truly horrific. Only then, can the government unleash destruction against another people without backlash from the masses.

These events have been scripted, publicized heavily and will be used as the justification.

jUST A THOUGHT

maybe they wanted to image something...hidden in the hills of PA

a run away balloon with radar...just the thing...

something they were unable to image with the planes seen ealier by OP

hmmmm

if the military are trying to image it, then it wouldn't be military...

bunker?

That would be funny if they had deliberately floated the blimp over to that area to 'image' or spy on something, and 'forgot' to tell the local law enforcement, who shot it down.

That would explain a lot. They forgot to feed the little grey and he went looking for some prime PA beef.
