Satellite Shows Heat Flash When Russian Metrojet Plane Crashed, But No Missile: U.S. Officials | |

Especially since this plane was headed to Russia, so it's fuel tanks would have been full... so no vapors for a large explosion. |

The infrared signature of a missile or explosion is easy to detect from space... emissions in the IR spectrum travel through the atmosphere much better than visible light. |

Useless Cookie Eater User ID: 29696048 United States 11/02/2015 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | While many have speculated that a missile may have struck a Russian commercial airliner that went down over Egypt's Sinai peninsula, U.S. officials are now saying satellite imagery doesn't back up that theory. Quoting: < DL > A senior defense official told NBC News late Monday that an American infrared satellite detected a heat flash at the same time and in the same vicinity over the Sinai where the Russian passenger plane crashed. According to the official, U.S. intelligence analysts believe it could have been some kind of explosion on the aircraft itself, either a fuel tank or a bomb, but that there's no indication that a surface-to-air missile brought the plane down. [link to www.nbcnews.com] It's time to start looking at the passenger list, and who exactly, was on that plane and what their employment was. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52415929 No missile. Plane struck down. Thoughts? You need vapors to get fuel to explode... considering this jet's destination it's tanks would be full, making that unlikely. A laser that powerful would have to be built into a large fixed facility... and I know what you're going to say, yeah someone came up with a new one that fits into your pocket. Well someone with that kind of technology would not waste making it public by taking down an airliner... when they would obviously have the capability of just planting a bomb on the jet. |

Wordsworth - have they released info the MH17? US Satellites were there too. So they DO know who and what caused the MH17 if they can chime in on this crash. Hey Bes... From what I remember from back then, the satellites can only tell the general area of the launch, since they are looking at such a wide part of the globe. Since the front line of the battle in Ukraine was right near the shootdown, I don't think they could really tell just with the IR satellite system. It was designed to detect Russian ICBM launches, so it didn't really need to be that accurate... it was just to tell them what nation they came from. |

For that footage being so shaky and blurry, that was some crap drone then I must say. Bes Maat User ID: 70675683 Egypt 11/02/2015 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you’re a passenger, and the following occurs, don’t panic – it’s most likely an explosive decompression. The first sign is always a loud bang, as if an explosion had taken place during flight. The loud bang is often followed by violent jerks. You may see clouds of condensed air forming almost immediately. You will feel the flow of air rushing out of the plane. Oxygen masks will drop down in front of you and the other passengers. You may see loose items fly through the cabin and out of the plane, as the air flows through the aircraft.
