One fine day those fasteners will fail. Under load. In the air. You heard it here first. BTW, retired aerospace engineer here who has now been in the plating biz for 13 years. |

The Chinese President was here to do some business with some Seattle companies like Boeing. China said they would purchase 300 boeing 737 if boeing opened a factory in China. Boeing agreed and you know how that works... "Open your factory and we get all our IP not get out of China!!!" The Boeing employees protested the move, but Boeing Execs don't give a xxxx. [link to www.seattletimes.com] Wait for it.... NOW China debuts first large jet in challenge to Boeing, Airbus [link to www.seattletimes.com] China unveiled a prototype of its first homegrown passenger jet it hopes will compete with airliners from Boeing and Airbus Group, setting the stage for the plane’s first flight sometime next year. Several thousand people gathered Monday as Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China, known as Comac, rolled out the single-aisle C919 at its manufacturing and assembly center in Pudong, near Shanghai’s main airport. The twin-engine plane emerged from layers of red curtains with gold trimming to applause and patriotic songs blaring from the sound system. “The air-transportation industry of China cannot completely rely on imports,” Li Jiaxiang, head of China’s civil-aviation administration, said in a speech. “A great nation must have its own large commercial aircraft.” China’s focus on a homegrown aerospace industry is part of a broader push to elevate its economy into the ranks of advanced industrialized nations by 2020. ------------ If you don't know, BOEING makes up nearly all our GDP numbers. If they move their business, there goes our GDP negative... Can't fudge those numbers anymore. [/quotline. Fact. When Concorde was being developed, Russian spies stole the blueprints and ip, they implemented them line for line, but they were not technically advanced enough to deal with building a supersonic passenger jet, their Concorde clone crashed and was deemed unstable hard to control and unsafe. It was abandoned. |

But it's impossible that in one month, Boeing transferred IP that significantly affected this particular aircraft. It is likely that future versions and future new designs will use Boeing IP. |

He be back. You dont understand how we chinese operate. We pay very high salary to white engineers to supervise the entire process. We just worry about how much we can earn from this white man orchestrated project. Quoting: Ramen Expert No way I would ever fly on that one.
