I think many people have going to the dentist no matter what. I know I hate having my gums or teeth messed with.
I think many old people just brush and floss, and don't worry about it. So as their teeth wear down, they basically let it go.
I know what you mean. The day mine start looking like British chompers, I will suck it up and get them fixed.

My teeth look like hell and all have to come out. And that's after spending decades and the cost of a small house to keep them this long. Dental insurance is expensive and barely covers anything, has yearly maximums and has year long waiting periods on major work. So you have to save up for it. To get the really nice implanted dentures - you're looking at around $30,000 for the cheap ones. It just sucks really. I'm running out of time myself - I'm gonna have to just take on the debt and do it next year. My teeth are starting to hurt all the time and I'm sure my cracked amalgam filling are slowly killing me. *sig* #DontJudgeItCouldBeYouNext
