Lord help us , be ready, for with and in You as we see the day approaching Amen

I am re-reading the story of David. While I have read before he was not one of my favorites until God showed me why He loved Him so much. We can get a glimpse of God when we read about what and who He loved and hated in Scriptures.
War is something I never cared for but war has been a part of this world since the beginning and will be till the end. I was a child of the sixties and the peace movement was used by the enemy in ways we never dreamed. Spiritually the war rages , peace is something we find in God on the front lines of the battle grounds of earth. As I was reading and came to Hannah's beautiful prayer I was reminded Who we say we love. I will put a few verses but read all of it in 1 Samuel 2. God loved David for many reasons but we know David was a mighty warrior and how he fought those battles are very important how we fight ours.

6“The Lord kills and makes alive;
He brings down to the grave and brings up.
7 The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
He brings low and lifts up.
8 He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the beggar from the ash heap,
To set them among princes
And make them inherit the throne of glory.
“For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,
And He has set the world upon them.
9 He will guard the feet of His saints,
But the wicked shall be silent in darkness.
“For by strength no man shall prevail.
10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces;
From heaven He will thunder against them.
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.

yes Lord Amen

For the most part, David did God's WILL. And he was pretty quick to repent when he messed up.

The Old Testament is basically the history of God's interaction with mankind before Jesus was sent.

By far, the most recurring theme is of God telling or having prophets tell folks to repent.

What do Jesus and His disciples teach for "getting started"?

Repent...and Believe.

Isaiah 64 was my chapter today and as I read it you could see the people knew and understood how powerful and Holy God is.
We have lost this , “come as you are,” has been used by the enemy in ways to make us forget Who we pray to and worship. Come as you are, those exact words are not in Scriptures but I have heard it for decades .
The meaning of that term is our hearts to come to Him as we are . Once we ask Jesus in our lives we study and learn Who we worship.
I have seen women dress for church in ways I wanted to run out of the room. I have seen His Altar defiled many times and when we pray I have seen disruption that made me cry.
God never stopped being Holy , we did. We are called to strive to be Holy. I have been accused of being a Pharisee when I speak of such things. God has shown we have forgot Who He is in many things but the Holiness of God is one that causes all others to be forgotten.
The thing about Pharisee is they knew what God's rules where better than any but not what brought Salvation. Knowing God's rules and that it is faith in Jesus that brings salvation is striving for Holiness.
When we dress to worship , do not dress for self , dress for Who you are going to Worship.
When we pray to God we are speaking to a Holiness they understood in Isaiah, it is not some phone call to our mom to be put on hold.
Take time to search the Holiness of God and understand Who we say we love. We dress better for weddings than we do for God ever wonder why, when we are to be His Bride. There are some suggestions in Scripture how to dress to worship God , that was not for people then , the whole word is for all who read it till He returns. There are examples of prayer time like in Daniel or how Jesus did it.
God has convicted me on these things many times , we serve a God worth trying to treat Him with Holiness in all matters.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Isaiah 65 has about 30 good messages in it but I love verses 17-25. I have been ask many times if animals go to Heaven my answer is always the same. This chapter reminds us how much God loves all He created and one day no one will destroy as we have, His creations.
Verse 25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the Lord.

I believe all we cared for and loved He created here we will see again. In Montana I stood face to face with a wolf once and never felt such peace. I think about my hike alone one time in prime Grizzly country trying to find peace and know without doubt He protected my foolishness many times.
Read all of that chapter and see a glimpse of God's character and what awakes us if we follow Him and are not counted with the rebellious ...

All eyes are on Hurricane Cindy right now. Hurricanes are an amazing force of nature. We lived in Montana when Katrina hit. I trained and worked the phones for the Red Cross at that time and heard all kinds of stories. Now we live a short distance from where we could be affected and have to pay attention. Jeremiah 51 gives us a glimpse of a wind God sent or a wind on the sea as in Acts 27 .

Job 38 :34“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water may cover you?
35Can you send out lightnings, that they may go,
And say to you, ‘Here we are!’?
There are two choices in this life to see things through Gods way or satan. Hurricanes can be very destructive therefore we do not associate them with God, re-read the whole Bible. If we find good in what God may do with a storm as in Jeremiah 51 then we will see things different.

They cause us to stop our daily grind and routines of the worldly kind.
They make us be a community , putting all differences aside and work together.
They make us prepare for change.
If we lose material things we see all that did not matter and could become rust. Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
We can face this storm knowing Who controls it and not let satan get a foot hold. We send and recive text messages all day now. We get weather warnings on our phones now , God never stopped sending messages...Mark 4:41
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? What is His Text Saying ?
