Re: Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word
Prayers said for all.

I have a prayer request for two good friends of mine. The first is my friend Millie, who runs the food pantry at her church. She is 86 years old, and doesn't drive. For the past 2 years, I have been giving her a ride on monday mornings to her church so she can help others.I got a call at 7am. She had to be rushed to the hospital this morning, as she was having a very hard time breathing. Millie has been running the food pantry at her church for close to 40 years. She has literally helped thousands of people. Please pray that she will bounce back and continue to do what she does best, help others.

I have another friend, S.P., who has had some scary medical situations the past couple of years. Now they are dealing with memory loss, and reportedly they are slowly dying, getting a bit weaker every day.I do believe it is a heart problem complicated by diabetes. They have cut off all contact with just about everyone, except me. We had breakfast Friday morning, and the conversation got quite ugly about every friend and even family.Even a few barbs were thrown my way. S.P. wants no one to care for them, wants no one to say they are praying for them, etc. They have recently told off many people for slights or perceived slights, that have occurred years ago. Without warning, has blocked most everyone's email or phone calls.I couldn't believe this is coming from a person who was so kind, so full of Faith,so strong. I believe this is what is known as the "Dark Night of the Soul". My friend needs Peace and the Healing of their soul. Please pray !

Millie Update:

The doctors think Millie has A-Fib, which is a fluttering of the heart. She is having more tests tomorrow. I do not know if they will treat the A-Fib with medicine, or if she will need a pacemaker. Millie had a heart attack and a quadruple bypass 23 years ago. She has had no problems with her heart since, until now. Millie said maybe this is a sign from God that she needs to slow down.
Millie is very frightened by all this. I have never seen her so rattled before. She is scared to be alone, and is considering getting someone to stay with her when she is released from the hospital, or getting Life Alert.
 Quoting: tiger1

She definitely needs a life alert type arrangement, and to keep it on her person at all times. That's in addition to whatever company or assistance she chooses to have. They won't generally be there 24/7, but a buzzer is.

I have a friend with A-Fib. She takes a drug which prevents clotting, and sees her doctor regularly. That's all it takes for her - she's in her mid-fifties.
 Quoting: Pooka

Millie has been on blood thinners since she had her heart attack and bypass 23 years ago. Maybe the doctors will just change her meds. She is getting more tests run today. Millie is just an absolute rock ! Yesterday she said she expects to get well enough to go to the food pantry next monday, as she has work to do !

I'm healing with your prayers, quickly. hugs

Pooka, I didn't go there after work.

I ate a little a pre-cooked chicken, guzzled natural mineral water, had an epsom salt bath and crawled in bed. After all the stuff I've been taking, I think it crest yesterday (fingers crossed). I added Thyroid support (ashwagandha root) last night, since my first symptom was a hoarse voice. (It didn't cross my mind it might have been a thyroid issue. But it mimics the flu.)

It's working, especially with your prayers.

hugs All in all, I'm probably "normal" sick now. I am taking: bendryl, tylenol, chewable Vitamin C, magnesium, L-Lysine, ashwagandha, rhinocort nasal spray and 30 year old bee pollen. I'll crank-up the oil of oregano diffuser again and another hot bath before my morning crash.

Thank you guys so much for your prayers. I am better this morning. hugs

Re: Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word
I don't even know how to begin explaining what happened today : (

Not good sums things up.

They did the heart catheterization and angiogram and found WAY more blockage than we were ever expecting. A couple of major arteries are 99% blocked and another one that is at least 85% blocked. There's a LOT of calcification everywhere. Things looked so bad that his cardiologist didn't feel qualified to place any stents because the arteries are so brittle. And he truly doesn't believe that any surgeon will agree to bypass surgery because there's really no good arteries to bypass to! Good Lord. :\

His cardiologist is going to speak with a couple of surgeons just to confirm that they don't feel it's worth the risk to do the bypass surgery. The next step will be to speak to some other extra special specialists/surgeons who specifically operate on severely damaged/blocked arteries. I can't remember what he called these folks. Some initials of some sort. I think they involved the letters C and O, if anyone has any idea?

I don't know. As soon as things turned so negatively while speaking with his cardiologist and looking at the x-ray images/video showing all of the blockage/damage, I immediately started telling myself not to cry. Don't start crying. Do NOT cry! And I missed some details. : (

Today sucked. Things are really much worse than I ever imagined. His only Saving Grace is one thick, unblocked artery that is picking up the slack for all of the others that are just shot. He mentioned a couple of arteries that are just shit. Used some O word. Sorry I can't explain this any better. I wish I could because I sure could use some insight.

As soon as I found out back in September that he might have blockage I began researching supplements/vitamins that could help. I got CoQ10, vitamin K2, Cholestene and a liquid supplement called Hawthorn Blend. He’s been taking these regularly since each arrived. We’re switching to a heart-healthy diet 100%. No more cheating (for him anyway). And he HAS to quit smoking 100%. He did really good for a little while, but then I found out he was sneaking cigs occasionally.

So basically I have to become Hitler around here. And be that nagging girl I never wanted to have to be. This man won’t last long otherwise. He might not even with me being Hitler. This is scary. Very scary. My mind is just spinning. But I will do my part. Whatever and everything that that entails.
 Quoting: Simple27

Sweet Simple ,
I have a friend ,he is in 70s and he needed knee and hip surgery. When he went to get test for surgeries they found only 18% of his heart was working. They would not do his surgeries even though he was in great pain. His heart is so bad they do not know why he is till walking. He found a Dr to do both surgeries and he is fine. His heart is the same , he is a strong man of faith. Our hearts stop when God wants , we live and breathe because God wants. No Dr ,no diagnosis can change that.

Dear Heavenly Father , we lift Simple up to You and her loved one we ask the enemy loss power and Simple have the faith that no matter what happens their lives are in Your hands in Jesus name amen

Very sorry to read this. I'll keep yall in my prayers, along with everyone else here with requests in the thread. Don't post or log in much lately, but try to pop in sometimes to see who needs praying for.

The brightness in all this, Simple, is that he has you and love and I think I remember you live in an area near good doctors. So there is hope. And prayers. And God. And I believe in miracles and hope you do, too.

Scrolling through the last few pages, I've noticed a lot of people with heart issues and they seem relatively young, some of them. My best friend's husband (he's 50 I think) went in for a triple bypass when they found blockages during an exam prior to another scheduled surgery. When they went in, there were 5 blockages and they had to do 5 bypasses on arteries with 70 to 90% blockage in each. That was nine weeks ago. Just two days ago, they stopped off at the house on his Harley and he was doing well and has been back at work for almost a month now. So, see, there is hope. Even in dire cases. I'm glad your guy is aware of his condition and has doctors, good doctors.

It's late and I'm rambling, sorry. And ignoring the not so good outcome in my own situation, because the key here is to be positive for everyone. I pray for miracles for all of you, whether it is a cold or heart problems or memory issues, etc. And I pray for the very best outcomes possible if we can't have miracles.

Be well everyone and sorry I didn't quote all the other people with prayer requests. I've read them and will go say some prayers now.

Occluded is the word you were looking for. It's another way of saying blocked or closed, as in the artery is 48 per cent occluded.

I'm so sorry you had such an awful day - your life must seem turned completely upside down right now. However, I have good news for you! God is still God.

God is never surprised - He knows our ends from our beginnings and everything in between. He knew your husband would learn these things about his health today, and He knew how you would feel. He loves you both very much, and is right next to you in this. You are never alone - you have Him, and you have us.

Lord Jesus, thank you for this beautiful sister in Christ. Father, You know how she feels right now, and what she needs. We ask that You would fill those needs as only You are able, giving her peace, relief from the shock and fear, and with hope to go on tomorrow.

We pray for her husband, Lord, that you would give him peace in the midst of this storm, and remind him that You said "We are going to cross the lake." He didn't say "We will cross the lake as long as there's no storm." Please remind this ill man that the boat IS going to cross the lake, and all will be well.

Please give our dear sister an extra measure of help tonight and tomorrow, Lord, as she walks in the new reality. Hold her up and shine light on her path. We thank you for all these things, Lord, that we have just prayed in faith in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

If they haven't heard of this possibility, maybe mention it to them. I know that Medicare here in MA offers this. An exception to the waiting for a year if you have a condition requiring immediate health care.

I will pray on this for her. And thank you for your prayers.

I am better this morning. hugs

I swear by the Ashwagandha for thyroid support. It has worked miracles for me. I used to regularly have panic attacks and haven't had a single one since I started using this!

Glad to hear you are better and so sorry to hear about Simple. I know I don't comment with anything other than my praying hands, but I do treasure each of you guys and pray for you all every single day in addition to all requested prayers.

Re: Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word
I am agreeing with you in prayer GFG. In Jesus name.

Simple this scenario with the heart sounds so much like what is going on with my in law. She is only a year or so away from getting on Medicare and her husband is already retired. So she found herself temporarily without insurance. No one will help her because of having no insurance.
 Quoting: NOLAangel

That is just terrible. : ( I would think that her medical condition would qualify as a "qualifying event" to rush the health insurance? If they haven't heard of this possibility, maybe mention it to them. I know that Medicare here in MA offers this. An exception to the waiting for a year if you have a condition requiring immediate health care.

I will pray on this for her. And thank you for your prayers.

~Ended up at the drs, got that large horse pill to heal me. Then they gave me a red pill to kill me. So, gotta tell them they must speak english, and no red pills, since I'm allergic to red dye. dead Can't wait for the cheaper immigrant-doctor clinics, drive thru window, "can I have a bowl of opium please?"

Re: Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word

I'm not sure what you have going on, but please know that I am praying for you.
