I am in so much pain at the moment. If you class pain on a scale of 1 - 10 then mine is off the scale.

I can not go on like this. I don't have anymore strength to endure this kind of pain.

I was being given morphine but now they won't give me anymore as they say I am becoming addicted to it.

Please pray for me I am terribly confused

Briefly;
I am a TI, widowed, senior
My businesses stolen, husband killed, found shelter way out secluded on 68 acres, I know no one
Been this way for four years
My dog poisoned a month ago, barely hanging on
Eight months ago I met a neighbor who is a widower and good friend but way different than me
My relationship with the Lord is powerful
My friend wants intimacy
I refused, because of this he is interested in another women which I know will end my friendship
Given the crimes against me it is rare I can trust anybody and leaves me limited
I am thinking and desire to be with him
Yet I do not want to sin against God
Marriage is a financial institution and I would lose financially and all I have needs to go to my children
Intimacy without marraige is sin

Any advice is appreciated

I was going to ask if you were being given anything for the pain. That's insane. Is there an alternative pain medication they can give you?

Realistically any pain med that will actually help is going to be an opiate, therefore addictive. But you need something for the pain. :\

Are you currently going through chemo? Or will you be now that the cancer has spread?

IM SURE THEY WOULD PUT UOU ON MOROHENE THERE
I CANT IMAGINE THE NHS NOT HELPING SOMEONE WITH CANCER PAINS.

It is inotolerable behaviour for them yo not give hou pain relief.

The doctors are talking about radiotherapy as it has spread to the bones.

When will they be doing that bud .

Well here's the shocker. I am in hospital and have been for a few weeks now. It is the doctors here that refuse to give me any more morphine. Now they just give me a stupid transdermal patch with Buprenorphine (5 microgram an hour release). That and 100mg of Tramadol every 4 hours. But I can tell you it is not having much effect on the pain.

Ummm, yes, that is quite a shocker since Buprenorphine and Tramadol are also both addictive narcotics that one can become dependent on.

So why are they refusing to give you the Morphine, the one that was actually helping with your pain, saying the reason is because you were becoming addicted to it? Ugh.

That just sucks and you should be given whatever it takes to make you comfortable and relieve a bulk of the pain you are in. : (

Surely its easier to kick the habit of Morphine compared to the agonies of Cancer ... I wouldn't care if I was left with a Morphine addiction after relief from pain..

I tried to argue that point with them. But to no luck.

I guess it comes down to which big pharma company is supporting the hospital.

Yeah that happens here. Doctors prescribing certain meds over others cause they are getting a commission!

That's what I'm saying!



The health care system is SO screwed up! I didn't realize it was the same way there. It's just wrong to leave you in so much pain when they have the means to make you comfortable.
