Life and Death

Yesterday I went to a memorial for an awesome lady that God took Home. Then that evening went to a birthday party for a life just beginning. There are two things absolutely the same for all of us. We are born and we die. We do not have choice where we are born or by whom. We do not have choice in dying , we will all die and like birth most do not know when or where. While we have no choice in those two , we do have a choice where we spend the next life for eternity.
There are only two choices Heaven or hell. All the good and beautiful things in this life can give us a glimpse of Heaven. I say glimpse because if we really knew what Heaven was like we would not want to spend another day on earth.
All the evil and ugly things of this life give us a glimpse of hell. If we really understood hell we would spend every waking moment walking out the Great Commission, Matthew 28. We would speak truth to all those around us. Jesus spoke more on hell than Heaven, there was a reason for that. I hear all the time why would God allow this or that. I only have to wake each day and look around me to know and see , this life is about the next. While this one we have little or no control over , God gave us total control over the next and that is what we are to have ours eyes fixed on.
