I need prayers, my friends.
I have been sick for several weeks, and did not go to the doctor until today.I am as stubborn as can be, and try like heck to treat myself with naturals and old fashioned remedies. I got a good scare at 4:30 this morning. I woke up to one heck of a bad coughing spell that lasted a good 20 minutes non-stop and expelled a lot of gook out of my lungs. To top it off, my husband said I gurgled in my sleep, and quit breathing for a minute. I called the doctor's office as soon as they opened this morning, and they squeezed me in this afternoon.
I have pneumonia, and the lower right section of my right lung has collapsed. I went to the doctor's office, and then to the hospital for x-rays of my chest. I have to go back to the doctor on Friday morning at 10am CST. I am limited as to what medicines I can take, as I have severe allergies to so many medicines. I am currently on Cipro 1,000mg a day.I do get a reaction to Cipro, but not a severe one, so I hope I will be OK.
I am feverish, as weak as a newborn kitten, and just generally feel awful. My chest really hurts, especially the lower right area where the lower part of the lung is not working.
I have COPD, the Bronchitis/Allergic Asthma type. I was diagnosed 11 years ago with the COPD, and have been doing really good up to now. I have always had lung problems. All through my childhood I would get pneumonia and bronchitis. I was a premie, just 3 pounds and 12 inches long when I was born. I guess my lungs were never totally right to begin with, but I have made it almost 64 years.
Can you throw in another prayer my way? My oldest and dearest friend of 30 years is no longer talking to me, and I have no idea what I could have said or done to have this happen. I sincerely need ALL of my friends right now,and the loss of this one really puts a dagger into my heart.

My youngest daughter, who had to work until 5pm today, has skipped her 4th of July plans this evening to stay home and help me out. My oldest daughter stayed here to help me until later this afternoon, and is now at a 4th of July celebration with her kids. My middle daughter brought me some food, but I do not have much of an appetite. My husband is drunk and stupid, and is like a raging bull. If I wasn't so sick, I think I would honestly walk out, if not for my old dog, who I would never abandon. He is mad at everything and everybody, like usual. I am really being cautious with the Cipro I am taking, as it is dangerous for everyone, but in particular people over 60, like me. I am taking it with food, to try to ease any effects from it. I just took another dose with the Puerto Rican rice that my middle daughter brought over for me. :) I keep on switching off to being hot or cold, and feel a bit shaky. I am pretty miserable, and have no energy at all. I feel like going back to bed, but I am going to try to stay awake for a while. Like Simple, I wish I was closer to help, but can only support you from a great distance. You do too much for everyone else and abandon yourself. Sometimes, being selfish id delicious.
