I am going to humbly ask for some prayers. It's been quite a week...

Met with my new hematologist on Monday - blood levels had gone up and he ordered an immediate therapeutic phlebotomy to try to bring them down.

Had my follow up appt on Wednesday with my PCP about my blood pressure. Expected that appt to be a breeze, in and out, since I've been on the BP med for a couple of weeks now. That wasn't the case. At all. My BP was higher than it was 2 weeks ago. She sent me for an urgent same day CT scan of my brain to make sure it wasn't bleeding. Had the scan, no bleeding. But scared that it's so high she was concerned about this. :\ A new med was prescribed and she is sending me to see a cardiologist and an ophthalmologist to make sure my heart and eyes haven't been damaged due to the extremely high BP that just won't seem to come down.

This morning I was woken up because 911 services were outside and sobs were heard coming from my neighbor's house. Upon waking, I saw that my neighbor had called me 10 minutes prior. I saw my neighbor's young girls being driven off by someone. Went outside to find out what was going on. My dear friend who I love with my whole heart passed away in her sleep unexpectedly last night. Likely a heart attack. She was only 47 and was such a beautiful person.

I'm sad, scared and in need of prayers.
