Well awhile back my prayers were answered for my sister’s lost 13yr old dog and I thank all for the prayers here. So now on a much more personal note my almost 15yr old beagle/lab mix Cuddles has had a second bout of vestibular disease. But that’s not the issue, I’ve been through it before. Both times came after treating her aggressively for an ear infection... I know the drill and am teaching her to walk again. It had been about a week and she was happy except for walking, eating well as usual. Then Thursday she had diarrhea twice, the second was awful. Then she became sullen and didn’t want to eat her normal foods. It might be do to an intestinal bug because she has been on antibiotics for over a month for the ears. So I got some metronidazole for the diarrhea and whatever might cause it. Got some sucralfate to line the gut. And two probiotics... She’s an eater... so this isn’t good. But last year she went through a very tough infection and wasn’t doing well but came around after a week. She is eating roast beef and mighty dog cans. Not her normal diet but she loves them, I cook chicken and turkey for her as well as kibble.

Anyways she looks a little more lively than last night and today. I’m just praying that we can get the gut working right, she didn’t poop for 4 days after the vestibular hit, common occurrence in the early going so that may have affected things too. So I’m hoping if you read this you will think of her and maybe pray for her bowels, her appetite and her coordination. Just a couple weeks ago I video taped her walking faster than she had in quite awhile on our daily walks, considering her age she was doing well, blood work is good. So sorry for the ramble, she’s my baby girl for 15 yrs, her brother had lymphoma at 7. I just want some more quality time and her to go out on her terms. I’ve been thinking day to day the last couple years and I know it won’t last. I’ve learned that 6 months or even a year can be a long time to enjoy and love someone. I’ve been blessed she’s still here, I know that, her brother taught me a lot about loss, I thought he was the one who’d still be here.
