Deuteronomy 6 , just wow how this chapter is a mirror of Jesus and the words in the Gospels .
Verse 4“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Matthew 22:37 , Mark 12:30 and Luke10:27...all say , So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.
Verses 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
I have been told you can over do it with the God , really!!!
Verse 11houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant—when you have eaten and are full . Everyhthing is God's He gives and takes away...

Verse 16“You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted Him in Massah.
Luke 4:12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Verse 24 And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.

Luke 1:50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
It was fear of consequences that made me obey my dad , God knows what He is doing. Jesus told us to fear only God the Father. We only have to look at the state of the world to see that fear is lost. The Saints before us endured terrible things by understanding this.
Hebrews 13:6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Luke 12:4-5 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.

Moses and Jesus told the people over and over , to fear the Lord , soft teaching can be seen in this for generations but it very clear. I know I use to fear all kinds of things until I understood what this really means.
