For what it's worth...I don't celebrate Christmas as anything...as scripture makes it pretty clear that in Luke 2....

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field*, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid*. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

There's no way in God's green earth that the shepherds would have had their flocks out...at night...in December in Israel.

Hi All,
Could use a prayer for my brother Rob. We took him to the hospital yesterday for severe weakness and inability to get out of his bed at home.
The doctor really wanted to start him on hospice (130 lbs. at 6'2") but he is a fighter and wants to live.
We prayed over him last night in the hospital and this morning the doctor is willing to try one last resort....amino therapy.
New method of treating tumors with special diet to target the amino acids from forming new blood vessels which feed the tumors.
Thanks for all of your prayers....I want you all to know that I "take a knee" for these prayers every day.

God is in control and Jesus is Lord over all....love you all dearly

I really wish you well. i was thinking previously when several people had heating problems and Tiger suggested candles.

i very often hold a night light (small candle) in my hands and put my prayers into it and then light it for the prayers to go to the Light.

I will light a candle for you and maybe others will too with a duel effect!

Here in the UK and especially Scotland the sheep are out all the time and it is colder here. Sometimes the farmer dyes/sprays the sheep bright orange so they can be found in the snow drifts! Not a criticism of your post TLS, just an explanation of what goes on here.

Hope your repair guy and now been round and fixed the problem.

Deuteronomy 18 is a very interesting chapter and we can see how much we have lost in what God wanted.
When we see the word forever we should take notice . God had chosen a group of people that was to do this, 5 For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.

Not sure what happened to that tribe but Jesus came and chose His twelve to do the same thing , forever to pass from generation to generation The Truth, The Word of God, The Promise.

I love to know all the abominations of God , so when this word shows up I pay attention. He tells them the land they are about to enter is full of abominations He hates. This is the list,
Verse 9 you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.

Our world is full of that list...
I have known many people who say they believe in God but allow these things in their lives . God has always been clear to have nothing to do with this stuff. If it did not have power in our lives He would not have not had so many warnings.

God is about to replace Moses with a new Prophet and He tells them this in verse18, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him .

Jesus told His the same thing , Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

I love what God tells them about Prophets , 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord , if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

We are to know if what anyone tells us is first , backed by Scripture and pay attention if comes to pass.

Prophets are second on the list of what to desire of the gifts of God and to have in the church body.
1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.


Every church should have these gifted persons in their body. The first gift on the list an Apostle can be seen in this chapter as well , verse 5 For the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord , him and his sons forever.
Forever we are to have keepers of the Truth , The Word of God. As God set up and Jesus set up , nothing changed...
Ephesians 4:
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Deuteronomy 18 is repeated many times by Jesus , The Bible is One Book , One Story and the first pages are mirrored in the last and show why we needed Jesus and the Holy Spirit. To be a follower is the narrow road and we could not do it without God and what he did for us...Luke 18 :26And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?”27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

I have actually heard people say I have my ticket I am not worried. Please look at what God loves and calls an abomination. Then look at all the warnings Jesus gives to followers as well , they are no different.
Luke 18:8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
Or
Matthew 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Following Jesus is not some easy ticket like getting in a concert. 2 Timothy 3 :12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

We are on a journey just like the people in the wilderness, in Deuteronomy. It is was not easy for them and it is not easy for us in a world that rejected Him then and now . God is the only reason they made it across , Moses not crossing is the biggest reminder of that. The reward waiting on those people was a land of milk and honey. The reward that awaits us cannot be captured in words , it will be amazing... We live in a world no different than Deuteronomy 18, full of abominations. This world has always had an expiration date. Only God knows when that is but until then Jesus says for many of us that date may be today , so get on the narrow road . This world and our pain an suffering is not about us and never was, do not live as it is anything other than about God …Jesus suffering on the Cross was the will of God. Find God in your suffering...

The day Jesus went to The Cross He told the people weeping this , Luke 23 :28 “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ 30 Then they will begin ‘to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’ 31 For if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry.
We are many years from the day He said this, we are in the dry days , know what to hold on to in the days to come...Understand why life is hard here...That is the peace Jesus told us to find on the battle field called earth...

Tiger I will pray for you. Its unfathomable to me that a church would 'hide away' the nativity scene in a classroom rather than displaying it proudly. You're right, Jesus is the reason for the season.

Prayers offered for Rob and his entire family, including you. God bless you all.

Right before my husband's triple bypass his cardiovascular surgeon, who is also a member of our church, asked my husband if he was spiritually ready for the surgery and any outcome that may arise out of it. This surgeon prayed with my husband which I don't believe happens very often in a hospital if at all.

My husband found it very soothing and spent a great deal of that night before the surgery in prayer. The next morning at 6:00 AM my husband was ready for any outcome and as we kissed goodbye before they took him to surgery, he said "see you later sweetie, either today or in the future". He was at perfect peace.

Happily he came out of it well, and four days after his triple bypass he was discharged home. By the Grace of God.

Thank you Father...thank you Jesus.

And thank you folks for your prayers

I will find out within a couple of weeks, as the church is decorated right after Thanksgiving.I have been checking out my options already, and think I have found another church home. the only problem is this other church has had a huge decrease in the number of people also like my church, and rumors are it just might close. I will cross this bridge when it comes. Wherever God leads me, is where I will go.

Our God is an AWESOME GOD !!!

His Faith sustained him !!!
