I wanted to write something today about helping others. I try and always read and pray before I write. This morning I skipped going to God first and went to Luke 10 to the story about the good Samaritan. As I wrote it did not feel right, so I stopped and went as I should have in the first place , on my knees and ask Him.

I do not have chapters of the Bible memorized, I have to go to It as a child almost everyday. After I prayed I opened my Bible to Luke 17 and as I read , I got upset I was in wrong chapter or was I???That is what God does if we allow.

Sure in Luke 10 that story has many messages about helping , but God knew what I needed so He sent me to . Luke 17:10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”

It made me cry when I read, “say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’” That was going to be my message and God knew that. When people thank us for anything we have to remember and remind them we do nothing , we are only vessels for God...
Psalm 16:2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord,“You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.”

Never take glory for helping someone , helping is our duty but has nothing to do with us or the one we help , but for the Glory of God... There will be people that never even say thank you and even expect help , there will be people that want to pay us back , there will be people that we want to help more because they have power over us.

Be careful , help all with the same thought in mind , WHO and WHY... Do not help expecting even a thank you , do not help expecting reciprocation , do not help to find favor , do not help for any reason other than what Glory it will bring to God...When a person says thank you reply with , “‘We are unprofitable servants.” It is our duty...
