I'm working on it. I find it sometimes to be a passionate adjective boost though.

Born in Boston here...Is THAT where I get it!!!? Yes, guilty here too.. Although, when I moved down south to MD, they don't like cussing, so it's fading for me.. unless I go north to see family and friends.

The easiest thing to consider is that cursing is like anger / hatred....they don't accomplish ANYTHING

Joshua 7 is a great reminder from the Garden to today a relationship with God is about faith and obedience...The sin in the Garden did not affect just Adam and Eve. The sin in days of Noah did not just affect the sinners. The sin of Achan did not just affect Achan.

In , 11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. 12Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.

We can not go against the enemy of this world and expect to win then or now if we love the things of this world...1 John 2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
In our culture the punishment for Achan may seem harsh but God is showing us stoning and burning did not stop the world from being Achan. He knew and knows all things that is why this commandment Jesus gave is the only one to help us not be Achan. Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. We do not stone people as they did here but are under this Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

There are several things I have over looked in that one verse. I use to ask for the wrong things in my life , houses , cars , trips , health , ect. The number one on the list should be is this. We are a work in progress till we leave earth. We all fight to not be evil until then as well, that is why Jesus told us in Lord's prayer to say , Matthew 6 :13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil...When was the last time we ask God to give our Holy Spirit something?
