Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word

Joshua 9 is a reminder for us all what happens when we are in verse 14 , Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord.
I know in my life all the decisions I made without the counsel of the Lord ended badly. We can see in this passage some great acting , 4 they worked craftily, and went and pretended to be ambassadors. And they took old sacks on their donkeys, old wine skins torn and mended, 5 old and patched sandals on their feet, and old garments on themselves; and all the bread of their provision was dry and moldy.


Deception is a great tool of the enemy, they came in sheep's clothing so to speak. We are programmed from the beginning of our lives to ask permission from humans for all things , starting from our parents , teachers and people over us . Maybe you came from a family that taught you to ask God first for everything , I was not. Some people like power and having authority over others, even children. I did not care for many of the decisions made in my childhood, therefore I like making decisions and that got in me trouble like Joshua , because I did not seek God's counsel first.

Joshua had been given authority over the people , but he was to go to God about any decisions that where outside God's commands. Teach your children to go to God about decisions they have to make or choice , then have them come to you...

Free thinking has went astray , we are in a sea of chaos and confusion . There are new standards being set up for children to make them free thinkers. I remember the first time a child was allowed to divorce their parents , look at us now. If a child is not brought up God is the Leader , The Commander over all things and He has rules , then we end up where we are.
Jesus comes to mind in all this, He was 12 when he made a decisions to be about the Father's business and ignored His parents.

Look at your children and see if by 12 they are ready to be about God's business...In my Dads life he liked authority over us, some of that came from the lack of power he had as child and bad decisions made he had not control over. I followed in his path , letting go of authority is one of my greatest challenges , it take things out of our hands. Faith in God in all matters is a hard lesson. The real enemy of Joshua knew what to use in his life, to make him go outside God's plan. That same enemy does the same with us. he causes us to doubt God and take on this life without Him. This started in the Garden and will continue till Jesus returns.

I have a routine of reading the Bible , praying and then writing. Today I only read the Bible and forgot to pray and ask God to help me write as I do everyday . Nothing would come as typed and the Holy Spirit reminded me, I forgot to seek the counsel God first. How awesome it happened on this chapter , to remind me to take the Counsel of the Lord before I do anything...
We can see in this chapter even though Joshua did this , the people did not die but became servants. God is a God of keeping His words , the promise Joshua made was kept. God has made us a promise and we are to hold on to that. When it snowed this week and I knew Gabe had prayed for snow for 5 years , it reminded me God's answers come in His time and His time is not ours. Ask God and wait for His answer. A s we see in Joshua and our generation we make a mess of all things without His Counsel and going outside His commands … Jesus the Son of God , is our example and even He went to God about a decisions...

Matthew 26 :39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

I know the times I thought I might not like God's answer , I did not even ask and that cost me...

Amen! The gift of His Spirit to us is astounding... It our true north in our storms....

Joshua 10, I will have to do in two parts. Each morning as I go to read ,most times do not know what I am about to read about , I do not have the Bible memorized as many. I ask God show me something new before I read and this passage I know by heart but did not know it would be my chapter today. God is amazing He knew I needed this as I struggle with the fires out west.

If you have read my book you know it is all about God and nature and how we have forgot Who and why...
In this chapter 5 Kings gather to make war and God fights the battle in way described in Job 38 verses 22“Have you entered the treasury of snow, Or have you seen the treasury of hail,
23 Which I have reserved for the time of trouble,
For the day of battle and war?

Joshua 10 :11 And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.

God has always used nature , He created it and He controls it. He does not do anything a person or thing can copy. The story of Moses and Pharaoh shows us that over and over.

Again nature in verse 13, So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.
When we see a hail storm we should be able to recall what God did this day and why. When we feel the warmth of the Sun at midday we should recall what God did and why.
That goes for all of God's elements that man tries, but can not create...God created earth to remind us daily Who created it. We find it easy to remember Him in a rainbow , we should also do the same with all of nature...The sun, the moon and the stars have a place in our daily lives, God is perfect in His ways.

Matthew 24 tells us this , 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven.

To not know God in nature is be in Job 38 :2“Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge?

I was falsely arrested & spent 17 days locked up for a crime I didn’t commit. Was also denied Miranda warnings,an attorney, medical care & subject to several invasive searches. I now have an atty and will meet tomorrow. Please pray that the meeting go well, healing take place, and justice served on the false accusers and abusers.

Well, this money has gone to getting the baby... lots of stuff. Lots of items for under the Christmas tree. Bills paid. Some Random Acts of Kindness thrown about.... because I can actually trace how I got this money to when I bought all new clothes, remember, and went to the FEMA thing and the guy thought I worked for FEMA? ... anyhow...

So yeah, life is good, hired a house cleaner - and that made my marriage 10x better over night - they deep cleaned it and now come every 2 weeks for just $40 for an hour.... It just makes the world of difference. Tried to reach out and help those who needed it, "Pay it forward" - "tithe" if you will.

Got these awesome Christmas decorations for out front - and Remember, you know, this is first time Christmas in new house with a baby and baby's first Christmas... So this blessing even let us get cute lights and those things you plug into the ground and it "shines" lights onto your house? Love them.

Oh yeah, and a REAL CHRISTMAS TREE! Lot's of new traditions/merging of them/and this years special collectible ornaments.

This small little grant really has been the biggest Christmas blessing - December has been an amazing month.

It was 52 degrees this morning - so yeah, feeling like Christmas in Florida. (AC back on now lol)

Life is good and it's because of God.

My hours got cut again. I never ever mention anything personal at work. Not to customers or coworkers. So nobody would have reason to know how broke I am. On top of that I need 2 tires, and many home improvements.

Anyway, a regular customer who I spent hours over a few weeks gave me a gift card for all my help. It was enough to buy groceries for the week, plus a dryer hose and a wall switch so I can turn on my bathroom light.


God heard, and answered. Thank you all!

He has an unlimted store house for our needs ...

Joshua 10 part two can be a hard read if we are not a warrior. Being a solider in God's army in this story meant not one living thing was to be left alive in the enemies camp. We have no clue how hard that was for them but they understood the consequences of not obeying God. As followers we are all soldiers in God's army.

God shows us He is a God that loves His chosen men of war like King David. Jesus never went to war or called any to do so as with Joshua . He came to leave us all God's armor found in Ephesians 6. Jesus did show us He loved the ones chosen to be soldiers.
Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
No greater faith in Israel was found than in this Centurion.
Going from Joshua to Jesus use to be hard for me. Now I see it was never Joshua or King David that defeated the enemy. Joshua showed us this and so did King David , doing anything on our own and not under the direction of God ends us up in Joshua 7 and defeated...Planet earth is one giant battle field and as we see not suiting up everyday , the enemy gains territory.

It gets real ugly before Jesus returns , He told us this many times , know what to wear today even before you dress in earthly clothes...
