Judges 4: 4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
You know I love this chapter, for years I have ask God to show me His calls for women in His Kingdom. Man has created so many divisions in this and their roles even in church , so I read His word and ask Him to show me with His Word. When I read this and here a woman is in charge of men to point of having to go into battle , I paused. No coincidence last week I heard the word I in Scriptures that was spoken of by Paul and it was still fresh in my mind. This is the only time you will see these exact words in Scriptures . 1 Timothy 2:12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. I do not permit screamed at me and I have heard and read this many times. We are in times where we are all over the place with women in the church . One extreme is following this word for word and the other is to ignore it completely. So when the word “I,” was louder than any other last week , I paused. God in Judges 4 has a woman in charge , she was a Prophetess and Judge. She even had to take the hand of Barak. Verse 8 And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!”
When I paused at verse 8 instantly , Jesus in John 4 came to mind. John 4:29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.
God can use whoever He wants , whenever He wants. The greatest message brought by a woman is when the men could not be found like Judges 4. John 20: 18Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.
God and Jesus are very clear, God does the calling no matter man or woman. This chapter brings another strong woman into it. I say strong because of the act done by Jael. Verse 9 So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.”
Verse 15And the Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot and fled away on foot.
The Lord , very important , can you imagine this chapter on a screen...
23So on that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan in the presence of the children of Israel. God used many characters in this chapter , He can do whatever He wants , whenever He wants. It is us humans , that places limits on Him...I do not know who taught you what, but let God be the first teacher...
Quoting: Goofy for God This is what we forget , Moses did nothing God used him, Deborah did nothing God used her , Paul did nothing God used him, Mary did nothing God used her...
He saw something in them different than the others and used it them , just like Noah Genesis 5: 29 And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”
