Thread: Please prayers for my dad. I think he just died. It's official. He passed.

Judges 19-21 is the most evil and gruesome stories you can find in the Bible. If this was a movie I could not watch and I pray you could not either.

This is what life without God looks like and notice it is not until Judges 20, that calling on God is found in all that text.
Verse 18 And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the Lord said, Judah shall go up first.

Hell is the word that came to mind when reading this. Spending eternity with the bad people in this story , should make us long for asking counsel of God everyday we wake.

We have a choice what company to keep. We have choice to not seek God's counsel as these people. We have choice to be in Judges 19-21 and live as the last verse , 25 in those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

We have choice to do what feels and looks right in our own eyes.

Choosing to not follow God and love Him with all our hearts souls and minds, is to spend eternity with the evil people in this story.
Romans 1 is just one place to find who you will spend eternity with by that choice...
Know what God wants , what God loves and what God hates ...Living without this, is found in the pages of the Bible and Judges 19-21...

We are hoping for this, that he is just a carrier. There is no doubt he has sickle cell, but the rest will not be known for sure until he is 4 months old when the doctor does a repeat blood test. From what I have read, if a baby has full blown sickle cell, it manifests in the 6th or 7th month.

I did some research on sickle cell. Sickle cell is more prevalent among the African American community,about 1 out of 12 test positive, but out of this percentage, only 1 in 400 get full blown sickle cell anemia. Also, 1 out of 100 Latino's are also a carrier, and test positive, and can get full blown sickle cell anemia also. Caucasians can also carry the gene for this and have full blown sickle cell anemia, but it is not common for caucasians.

From what I read, this is a recessive gene, like the one for cystic fibrosis.Perfectly healthy parents with no prior family history of either one of these, can have a child with these genetic diseases.You would not know you are a carrier unless you had genetic testing done.

So, we got the hearing specialist appointment for AJ, on the 17th. A little over 3 months from now, he will get further testing for sickle cell. I am totally stressed out. :(

I am so sorry Tiger , try and not think past today that is what is getting many through right now. Assume he is just a carrier and the ears will be fine. Love ya

Ruth is a short book and I have done several studies on it , so I ask God for something new. This book after the book of Judges is a time when the love of God is hard to find. There is a drought in the land and the hearts.
When I wrote” my book, “some people got upset it was so small. Some people got upset that I would suggest God would allow a drought for sin.
Ruth 1 :6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.

We forget as the people in these chapters Who gives and Who takes away. I grew up farming so I can easily visualize what a day was like for Ruth in the fields.
I use to ask God to just send a cloud to cover the sun, on those hot summer days in the field and He would. I learned at an early age Who ends a drought as the drought ended for Naomi and Ruth,Who visits His people...
This short story is powerful, it reminds us all , when things seem most dark and hopeless what God can do.Thank You Lord For Your Word...
