Daily Prayer Thread !!!Plus The Word

I am just shaking my head here in disbelief.

I have not signed in for a while, having crawled under a stone trying to avoid the world due to issues going on for me.


Now I find that you all on this thread are also going through problems - many of them a lot worse than mine.

When someone needs a prayer, I usually hold a night light, put the prayers into it and then light it.

So much, so many people, I think I will light a circle of lights and really hope it will encircle you all.

You all knew if I am still breathing I would make it to this blasted computer ! That being said, the left side of my face feels like I got whacked hard with a baseball bat. :( Since I am allergic to all pain meds, both prescription and over the counter, all I can do is pray the pain away the best I can. God is in control, and I trust in Him !
I ate some soft food this afternoon but this caused considerable pain. Dunkin Donuts coffee seems to be the only thing I can handle for now. My husband got me a big cup of it on the way home from Oral Surgery, and my youngest got me another big cup of it on her way home from work.I took a good long nap this afternoon, and feel like going back to bed soon.

The root of this blasted canine tooth was immense, very long and very wide. It looks like I got a replica of the Grand Canyon in my mouth where the tooth used to be.:(

2 Samuel 2, what a messy chapter. It has been some time since the people wanted a king and God gave them, Saul.
Verse 1 It happened after this that David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up to any of the cities of Judah?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up.” David said, “Where shall I go up?” And He said, “To Hebron.”
Do you ever wake and ask God specific questions like this. Where shall I go? I am trying to make a better practice of it. In Scriptures God either told people where to go , or if they ask He told them from this story to Paul.
We tend to make our own paths and I have made a hash of most of my life by following my lead or others.

David ask and God was specific and David was made King over Judah , without much noise. We now enter Israel and Judah at war. To look at those words is just strange. I can not imagine what the Civil war was like in America but it was ugly and messy just like this.
Abner is just an evil , nasty character and we can see sacrifice in Asahel . This chapter is just gross to me and how humans can so easily watch violence . Verse 14 Then Abner said to Joab, “Let the young men now arise and compete before us.
I only have to look at movies and many sports to know humans still find pleasure in this. The only thing different is somehow we have tried to make it civil, if that is possible.

David lost 19 men and Abner 360, that is a clear victory. This life is still a battle field and wearing God's Armor is what gets us through it.

My brother Kenny gave me a call when he got back from the oncologist this afternoon. I can barely open my mouth today, so I didn't talk much with him, to say the least.He is stage 3, according to the doctor. He starts tandem radiation and chemo on the 12th. Wednesday he has to go to the hospital for markers for the radiation.The doctor told him he has a 70% chance of being "cured". That means if the treatment works, he has a 70% chance to live 5 years, but I didn't tell him that.I am not saying anything at this point.
I am so angry with this doctor for lying to my brother. I wish he would be honest with him. He keeps on telling my brother he will not get sick from the radiation or chemo, or lose his hair.I have had many friends battle cancer, and every one of them got very sick and debilitated from the radiation or chemo, and Kenny is going to be getting both together.:(

I am feeling absolutely miserable today. I knew today was going to be rough. I am not going anywhere this weekend, not even to church or my mother's.I do not take missing church lightly, but there is no way I can go.I emailed the lady who is the head of the board at church to tell her I am not able to go.She will pass the word on to the pastor. My youngest daughter will go over my mother's on Sunday and take care of her needs.

Mary K should be getting the check for her car next week, and I should be recovered sufficiently to take her looking for another car later in the week.Once Kenny starts the treatments, Mary K absolutely will be needing a car to take my mother to her appointments, go to the store for her, pick up her medicine for her, etc. There is no way we can transport my mother in either my truck or my husband's. We cannot lift her up to put her in, and it would be difficult to take her out. She is very small and light, but is not maneuverable. My brother will not lift her either, but with his car that is not a problem as she can just slide in.If you try to lift her, she shrieks at the top of her lungs that she is going to fall, and will fight being lifted.:(

Please continue praying for my brother Kenny !!!

Please add a prayer for us to find Mary K a good running car for the $2,000 she is getting from the insurance company. We do not care if it is old and ugly, and dented or scratched. As long as it is reliable and can pass emission tests, we would be so grateful !
