No luck car shopping today. Found one really good vehicle, a 1 owner Jeep Wrangler, high mileage but well maintained. The price was way too high and they would not come down.
Found a Toyota Camry,good price, low mileage, engine sounded good, decent shape overall, but the oil light was on. Told Mary K to pop the hood, as I was going to check the dipstick.Oil was sprayed all over the engine. I assume it was head gaskets, as that seemed to be the source. The engine was not blown, but head gaskets are not a cheap fix. I was thinking maybe the oil pump was bad too. We skipped this one.
So, we will probably wait a few days before venturing out again, and keep on checking the listings for something in our area that is in the price range.
We came across used cars that had salvage titles, which means they were either totaled or a flood car, and a couple with unibody/frame damage in the past.We know to skip these, no matter how good they look or if the price is right. They are nothing but trouble.
I trust God to show us the right vehicle. We are not looking for perfect or fancy or newer, just basic transportation that will pass emission testing and runs good.
