2 Samuel 21 humbled me today. This humbled me because it gave me confirmation once again of the call God gave me in bridge walks.
Verse 1 Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord . And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

That one verse is packed with wisdom. First David ask God why no rain, pretty sure we do not inquire like this anymore. Second it is God's answer to David that is our answer today.

Any time there is a drought we should call on this verse and ask God to help us to turn and long for Him and not Saul …

Verse 3 Therefore David said to the Gibeonites, “What shall I do for you? And with what shall I make atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the Lord ?”
Verse 6 let seven men of his descendants be delivered to us, and we will hang them before the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, whom the Lord chose.” And the king said, “I will give them.”
David saved Jonathan's son as he promised Jonathan long ago but grants the request of the Gibeonites.

Verse 9 So they fell, all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

One of the things God allowed me to see in the in bridge walks is , we no longer mourn for our sins. I found in my life , I mourned longer for a pet I lost than how I sinned against God. We took things out of God's hands a long time ago, we seed clouds and blame pollution on droughts.
Jesus says , Luke 21:11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

How did we miss the last 2 words from Jesus in that verse “from Heaven.” We have one enemy and starting in the Garden , he makes us miss or doubt God's words. God is the same God, David inquired of ...
