2 Kings 23 Is a chapter unlike any to lead us to the Cross and Ephesians 6.

1And the king sent, and they gathered unto him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
2And the king went up into the house of the Lord , and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the Lord. 3And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the Lord , to walk after the Lord , and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.


Josiah is one to remember and to remind us the battle continues. Josiah cleans the land of idols and anything evil in the sight of the Lord.

Verse 25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him. 26 Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal. 27 And the Lord said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.


God tells us there was no King like Josiah and there will be none after him . There is only one King and Son that will save us from this war zone called earth. Josiah would die in battle and his son would undo all he had done.
God had said He would cast off and He does and He will. We know Jesus tells us it is our hearts like the heart Josiah , is all that matters.

1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
We only have 2 chapters left and we know the recurring theme has been to show us why Jesus went to the Cross. People where followers of whoever was in charge then and now , we are no different.

We see God is showing us many things in the Books of Kings. The greatest message in this chapter , is why Jesus did not tear down or burn idols like Josiah . Jesus did not kill the witches or evil men, like Josiah . Josiah did all this and the minute he died it all came back. It all came back after every good King and it was their sons that did it. We see in the good Kings , we will all get sick or die in battle while on earth. We see why Jesus said, Mark 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.


We see in the death of Josiah what army to be in and what to wear , Ephesians 6... God was not slack in promise then or now.2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God shows us in this chapter it is all about the heart and nothing else. We can clean the land like Josiah or we can build idols like the evil Kings but it is not our battle zone or home.


Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
They killed Josiah's body and destroyed all he did. We can kill good , we can kill evil nothing changes because we do not wrestle flesh and blood...Josiah shows us this is God's war and we are to know what army to be in.
We could only have the House of the Lord in America and be followers like Josiah but the next generation would undo all we did. That is what these chapters tells us. This is the action Jesus calls us to do until He returns.
Luke 9:5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

Josiah had clean dust , we are in times there are no clean cities...
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Thread: The Only Thing In Life We Have Full Control Over!!!

Thank you for posting this ! I needed to hear this, as things have been difficult around here.This is Holy Week for Orthodox Christians. Yesterday I went to "Good Friday" services.There were services Thursday, and will be again this evening. Tomorrow is Pascha, Orthodox Easter.

I do need prayer, as my husband has started up his objections to me going to church, once again. The baseless accusations are flying once more. I have come to realize that no matter what church I go to, I will have to endure this from him.He doesn't like to see me happy, and I am happy and peaceful in my new church home.
I am standing my ground, no matter what the consequences. He will NEVER be the reason I quit attending a church, ever again.What will be, will be.

2 Kings 24 and 25 the last chapters.
2 Kings 24:1In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him. 2 And the Lord sent against him raiding bands of Chaldeans, bands of Syrians, bands of Moabites, and bands of the people of Ammon; He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord which He had spoken by His servants the prophets. 3 Surely at the commandment of the Lord this came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done.

We all know Nebuchadnezzar in the Book of Daniel and he is now part of the promise of God in the destruction... We only have to look at the news today in Syria to know and see they did not get it then and we do not get it now.

War never killed the enemy because this is not our war. We are enlisted and we choose what side to be on and what weapons to use. When I saw the terrible news today out of Syria, it reminded me we have never left the Book of Kings. Terrible things happened in these chapters and terrible things happened in the last 24 hours.

Jesus died for all , borders no longer exist. God told them what would happen in 2 Kings and Jesus told us what would happen...
Matthew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

What was sad then and is even sadder now, is all the people not understanding eternity. War now is to remind us of the war in the Book of Kings. It did not turn out well then and it does not now. Many will spend eternity with the very people that they went to battle against.

We do not read about wars in the last part of the Bible. Jesus came , suffered , died and rose to leave us God's weapons. The first 1900 plus pages of the Bible is get the message across, man made weapons does not end the war on earth. Remember , 2 Kings 19:35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
This is God's battle field...
Jesus told us, Matthew 24: 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

This happened in the Book of Kings and is all around us now.

The sorrows in Syria should break our hearts because they do not know who the enemy is and Who wins the war...
People fighting for territory that does not belong to any human and will be found in Matthew 24:2...

As we finish the Book of Kings the greatest message is this.1 Samuel 8:7And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
We only have to look at the rubble fields of Syria to ask , why on earth would we want another earthly king ?2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven.

John12:8
I watched a show yesterday on the children in South Texas working in the fields. I smiled , as I once was one of those children. Today , 6 year old children start working in the fields to bring us cotton and food. Many do not know this exist still , but right here in Texas and other places , it does.
There are people trying to change this by different programs, so these children can get a better education and break the chains of this cycle.

We have long created programs to make things better, but they are fruitless without God.

The show explained what it creates in a child as an adult, I related to most of it. It took the words of a 90 year old last weekend to show me, I was still working in those fields in my mind. This man said to me “ why don't sit and be still. “ I was trying to take care of the needs of the room at a party. I feel guilty if I am not doing something until bed time. Yesterday after that show, God helped me be still and healed me of that guilt in a strange way.

As I have shared before I have spent my life trying to save or help all kinds of things, from trees to people.

For many it makes us feel good to build homes for homeless , hand out food to the poor and all the things we do to try and make earth a better place.

Jesus did not build a earthy houses , Jesus did not hand out earthly food, Jesus healed the soul. Harvey showed us many things. I was out of the storm and had to watch from a distance and the only help I could offer was prayer, God had purpose in that. He allowed me to see the world is not mine to help or fix outside feeding the soul, of Who the real Worker and Who the real Helper is.

If we truly believe in the Bible, we know the earth will end up in rubble like Syria or washed away like Harvey did our area.
God is the provider and always was. God rained manna from Heaven. God had the birds feed Elijah. Jesus fed 5000 with five loaves and the two fishes. Once the soul belongs to God He is the provider , healer and all a person needs. Matthew 6:11 Give us today our daily bread.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

“Your own,” it says , our number one job as followers is to teach the whole word of God. To ever think we do good , is to place ourselves above Jesus.
The soul is all that matters . We where to follow Jesus , we have to look at what He really did and what He did not do.

Look at what He built , what He fed and what He said... I am not a good person because I saved a tree, animal or helped a person. God takes care of mankind for His purpose in the way He wants. To help a person go to God for their needs, is all they need, if we truly believe in the God of the Bible. Job helped all kinds of people before he got it...It was not till he said I am vile in Chapter 40 verse 4 he truly understood .
I use to be confused by this John 12:8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always. Why will there always be the poor when God can send food from Heaven ?
We fed the poor with earthly food that does not last ... If we had fed the poor the right kind of food the poor would not exist. Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

satan from the Garden has always made things look good, satan has always twisted God's word , he knew then what to do and say and he does now.. A few verses has made us lose the whole picture.
The whole picture is God is the provider, the poor will keep coming back to man made programs when they do not know the God that rains food from Heaven... Those man made programs to help those children are not helping those children , unless those children know have faith in the God of Elijah... We are silly to think we do anything to help anyone or thing.
Colossians 1:6 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:


If I ever helped you outside of leading you to the only Helper , please forgive me.

Luke 18:8 tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Do we know what real faith is anymore?

Dear Heavenly Father , no matter what we are about to face help us face it with You, help us remember what all this is about in Jesus name amen

The word that the Lord spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the Lord their God.

5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the Lord.

11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the Lord.

15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the Lord, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.

25 The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord.

31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the Lord; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

Please lift up my Daughter. She is heading to be stationed in Germany in the next 2 weeks. Pray that this blows over and no larger conflict takes place.

Dear Heavenly Father, we ask for Your hedge of protection around this daughter and You have her where she needs to be in these uncertain times, we ask Your will in all matters and no matter what happens we find peace You are in control in Jesus name amen
