1 Chronicles 1-4

While this is a list of names many hard to pronounce , there is many words of wisdom in these chapters . The term “slept with his fathers,” was used all through the the Books of Kings.

When we read 1 Chronicles1: 43Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
44 And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
Dead is the word used for any king that reigned before the people of Israel ask for an earthly king , that got us in this mess. This made me reflect on words like slept , rested and dead. In the Bible we read about many doing one of these three terms. It changes after Jesus , He brought back several from the dead to show us what life is.

I have noticed for years one tiny word in the Bible is a full message. We do not read in Scriptures how the any of the 12 Apostles died except Judas. We see what happened to Stephen but died or dead is not used.
Acts 7:59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

In the beginning as with King David , we have the recordings of how they all died. After Jesus, death no longer matters because it is life. The prayer of Jabez , Jesus tells us to pray the same thing in the Lord's prayer. 1 Chronicles 4: 10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

What a wonder Book we have , make it a part of your life everyday until it is time to repeat the words of Stephen and Jesus...
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
I am going to change my instruction for my passing of this life and no where do I want died or dead. It will say she commended her Spirit to God … I want this on my headstone, Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
