Thread: Tired of fucking living. (Page 2)

Jonah is an amazing story and full of life lessons for every generation. I have been Jonah and it is safe to say we all have been him at least one time in our life. Doing what God calls us to do has never been easy , look at Moses or any of the examples we have.

There are many messages just in chapter 1 but you know I will focus on the nature. God knew what Jonah would do , God had already prepared a great fish.
Jonah had lost touch with Who God was so much he thought he could hide from Him. It would be winds, waves and a big fish that reminded Him.
Jonah knew why the seas became rough, he knew Who controlled the winds and waves. God has always used His creations for His purpose.

Job 37:13He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

We are in a sea of Jonah's forgetting what the sea, wind and fish where created for...

Jonah 1:16Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord , and made vows.
This boat had a good crew but they did not know God they had little gods, there is only One God that controls nature. He has shown us from page 1 to the last page.
Luke 8:25
And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

These men come to know God from all this , people come to know Jesus at the Cross for the same reason.
Matthew 27:54
Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

When we are in a storm maybe we should stop as these men did and ask if there is a Jonah among us and then call on Him as they did. Thank You Lord for this story today...

Morning prayers for all.

No real change in Sheba. Her IV drifted during the night, and so the meds couldn't disperse like they should have. She is moving around a lot in her kennel at the Vets, and refuses to sleep on the blanket they gave her. She moves it out of the way and is sleeping on the floor. They had to redo the IV this morning.If there is no change by later this afternoon, I am going to bring her home.The Vet wants to keep her one more night.

Please keep us in your prayers !!!

This was inspired by what I am seeing on my FB of people calling themselves Christians and saying ugly things about migrants ...


I have always understood I had no choice where I was born and who my parents are, no one does.
That alone should humble us but it does not. God does not love me anymore than He loves a child in Niger, one of the worse places for a child to be born.
If you have no compassion and are not praying for families born in a bad place that want what we have , you might need to go on a Mission trip...
We are where we are and have what we have because God allowed us to have it. The Book of Job is a good read anytime we become prideful of what we think we did or have. Job 1:21
And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

Having a sick animal is the worst. They can't tell you what is wrong and they look to you for help. I went through this with my sweet Husky and I know the pain.

Exactly. We cannot get to the point where we let politics affect our compassion. Regardless of who is right or wrong politically, we cannot forget that these children need our prayers.

Sheba perked up this afternoon, and ate a whole can of dog food ! Last night she was in critical, and this morning was no better, but now she is improving ! THANK GOD !!!

I am feeling so much better. I am hopeful my sweet Sheba will be with me for a while longer. When it is her time, she will go, but I am thankful to God that He has given her a little more time.

The whole Bible is an amazing Book but Jonah should have spoke to all of this week. I have been a weather watcher my whole life , as a farmer your life is controlled by it.
I am sure there are many that saw the miracle this week in Texas but there are many Jonah's out there that did not . There was a low spinning out west that brought 16 inches of rain in the same areas where the migrants where being processed . For the most part weather systems move from west to east , north to south and south to the north, that is the common pattern.

When the children got the right kind of attention this week the rains stopped. Here is what is even more amazing , that low moved southwest and faded away into Mexico . Many will spend time taking away from that miracle , if you are doing this ask yourself why. We only have to look at the most recent event with Harvey to know a storm can stay as long as God wants.
In the Book of Jonah we see a man that did not listen to God but the winds, waves and a fish did. God used those things to bring salvation to the mariners and bring Jonah back to Him.
Then the great fish did as God said and spit Jonah out. Jonah did what God said and people where saved and God did not destroy that great city.
Jonah 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God. 7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord : and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
This week if we give glory to what humans did we do not understand what God does in our Spirit and Who He uses for what purpose.
Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
God saw people have a change of heart and correct wrongs this week...
Jonah gets mad that God repented , so what does God do and use in chapter 4 to show Jonah his anger has no place.
God uses alone in chapter 4 a gourd , worm ,sun and vehement east wind. God grew that gourd in 24 hours , that is Who we say we love.

We all have been Jonah and Job but we belong to a God that says this in Jonah 4:10 Then said the Lord , Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: 11And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

If anyone of us thinks God does not care for for all peoples , all His creations even those cows in Nineveh and uses them for His purpose then we need to ask Him to help us not be Jonah...
As children of God we are to never want or wish bad things on anyone or thing God created. If you have a heart like Jonah wanting punishment and not God's grace and mercy you need a heart check up...We do not get to know anymore about Jonah unlike other humans God used in Scriptures. God is making a strong point , it is all about Him...

PRAISE REPORT !!!

The doctors office called, and the tests showed that my husband's condition is stable ! The spots and cysts on his kidneys and liver have not got any bigger ! So, they are just going to keep a close watch on them for now. My husband still has to have tests for the Barret's and the aneurysm by his heart. I sure pray we get good news with those tests too !

Sheba is continuing to improve, and hopefully I can bring her home tomorrow. Her blood count is very low,extremely anemic. She is having 2 different meds and a blood transfusion infusing today. They called for my consent. The Vet said if she was not rallying like she did, he would not have suggested this treatment today. We would have brought her home to die. Sheba is a fighter!
This is not a cheap Vet stay. They are giving me a break on the bill as a long time client and a low income senior. I am so glad I have Care Credit!
