But Thomas was not there when Jesus breathed on them

Matthew 9

I have studied healing in Scriptures for years for my husband and his terrible disease. The one common theme in healing is faith and what God wants.
It was my answered prayer for my brother when I learned much about healing , suffering and death. The number one thing that needs healed is the soul. I had never met anyone much less knew someone that had a NDE. After my brother died I watched Heaven is for Real . I freaked out at how much that little boy said , that my brother had said, confirmation of all he told me.

Many have taught for generations that healing went out with the Apostles. I never understood how this happened but I know satan is happy. I guess they also do not teach ,1 Corinthians 12:9
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit or the Spirit of God is in us.
Many have abused healing in the church for personal gain and made many no longer believe , again satan is happy.
I remember coming back with my Spirit on fire from my time with my brother and would go to hospitals and pray for the sick and dying , many times they died. I had to step back and study why things happen as they do. I focused all my attention on just healing of the body and then was directed to pain and suffering that brought glory to His name.
Paul had a pain that never healed that reminded him daily Who he belonged to.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
We are not a generation of taking pleasure in our infirmities. We are a generation of pain killers and focus on all energy on being well and not feeling pain.

Matthew 9: 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

We only have to look at church prayer request to know how sick we are , they where then as well.
I know every church was to have the gifts given in Scriptures but most churches know each others emails better than what their gifts are . One reason I have found is, the people themselves do not know what gifts they have . We make church about one person with a message , it was to never be that way. Corinthians 12 is just one place of gifts . Gifts, healing and sickness are all about His harvest, we just have to remember that. My faith has grown through my husband's sickness , together we have over come things few face .

One day God could take that terrible disease away but I have come to understand that can be while he lives or through death of the body, the soul is all that matters in the end...
Philippians 2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
I have come to understand no matter what I want or think should happen, it is all about God. It is not the person with the gift of healing , it is not a medication , it is not anything other than what God wants. To embrace pain and suffering is what Jesus did for us.
It was 2 years ago when I got sick , I got on my knees with a pain that seemed unbearable. I told God He created my body and if He wanted me to suffer I would . I told Him if he wanted me to die I was ready. I spent years trying to do the opposite but now have a peace I never knew. If you fear pain, suffering or death call on Him that made you. Embrace what He wants not what we want...He knew what Paul needed , He knows what we need , we do not. The world says the opposite of 2 Corinthians 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
The message of the Cross tells us many things and one is even Jesus said this .
Matthew 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
When we pray we need to do the same as Jesus did and embrace His answer, when we focus on our selves and what we want , we take our eyes off Him...We forget none of us suffered pain like Jesus did and He did not deserve it.
Luke 8: 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any.

Are we spending all our time, money and energy trying to heal our bodies or souls???

I've been thinking on this verse a lot lately. We don't always understand why, but if it is His will, then what we want becomes not as important.

Not your usual AC thread as this has been ongoing since yesterday morning and the AC is still responding. I really think he / she is open for answers.

Of course Mini's surgery was the more involved one. Things were worse than thought once the surgeon could see more. She's doing well all things considered, although in pain. She's a tough little cookie though. Very alert when she woke up from the surgery and very independent getting to the car and into my mom's house afterwards. She put down a good number of chicken fingers as soon as we got there too lol. Her choice of food, but shocked me she wanted (and killed) chicken fingers right after waking up from surgery! It all caught up to her though (as well as the pain medication) and she started feeling tired and a bit weak after a little while. I got her all set up in a bedroom there with everything she needed and then went to pick up her FIVE prescriptions. Sheesh. Painkillers, blood thinners, nausea medication, constipation medication and an aspirin for when the blood thinners are finished. Went back, gave her the meds she was due for and then hung out with my mom, sister, niece and nephew for a bit which was really nice. : ) Oh, Mini's father decided today was one of the days that he would actually be a father to her (I just love how he picks and chooses when to be involved - very few and very far between). Kind of annoyed me that my mother had to sit in the waiting room so that he could come with me into the pre-op room with Mini to meet with the surgeon, nurse and anesthesiologist. He will have zero part in her recovery. No aspect of it. I don't think she's seen him since Christmas, the one day per year he gives her an hour and a half of his time. Ugh. My mom should've been in there with me as she will be the one taking care of and helping Mini while I'm at work for the next SIX weeks, not her show-up-when-it's-convenient-and-makes-me-look-like-a-superhe​ro 'father'. No, I didn't say these things to or in front of Mini. That's not how I roll. But it sure as hell is how I feel. And so does she without ANY influence from me. He's just that lame.

She has to wear a brace that is basically the length of her leg to keep it straight for the next 6 weeks. The first 4 of those weeks she will also need to use crutches. She just lost her summer vacation really. It's a bummer. The less involved surgery would've had her walking this weekend. No exaggeration. So it's disappointing, but the surgery went well and she's doing good so far. She's gonna be miserable so quickly. She can't cheer now all summer and won't be able to compete with the team in the Fall. We'll get through this though, of course.

Thank you all who sent love, prayers, thoughts, vibes, etc. Much appreciated reading through as I was catching up.

Simple, I so empathize with you with regard to superdad. I had the same issues with my ex-husband. The satisfaction you and I will always have is that the only one who matters, God, knows the truth about these things.

Matthew 10 a chapter with at least a month of messages in it.

Jesus calls His 12 and in verse 1 gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

He sends them out with a long list of instructions, to go to the ones that believe in God , knows the Scriptures but not Him. The ones that did not see Jesus in every Book of the Bible . This chapter is full of information and warnings for every generation. Jesus sends them out with nothing but His Spirit.

Verse 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

His first warning and a strong one.

Verse 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
He tells them all the terrible things that will happen for following Him and His introductions.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
Jesus gives us what to speak , Moses is our example to not forget that.

Verse 36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
The hardest place to be a follower of Jesus is in our birth families and it holds true.

Verse 42And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

We do not want to lose our reward, and notice it is not plural...Please read this chapter over and over line by line. It is as important to us as it was to the 12. It is those that think they know everything that is the hardest to reach and teach...

It is all about God and not our agendas , our thinking , our ways, those did not, do not and will not matter.

Those 12 are our example that there is only One Teacher , One Book of Instructions, One reason we gather and go out...
